Lisa's POV
After Christina's phone call the day Lauren went missing I immediately rushed home. The police did already arrive and they looked for any sign of housebreaking but there wasn't. They explained that Lauren could either went out on her own and then something happened or she opened someone the door. There weren't even different fingerprints. That is why they expected Lauren being home by night or the day after.
Normally I am a really light sleeper because I was always the one to wake up when Lauren or Dani woke up. So I am pretty sure I would have woken up that night. But I had that stupid sleepover at my friend's house. Why did I do that? I could have saved her. Why wasn't I home that moment? That moment Lauren probably needed me the most.
Tiredly I went into the kitchen. It was Friday and Lauren was missing for 4 month and two weeks.
Alex sat at the kitchen table on his laptop. He was always on his computer watching movies or listening to music.
"Hey Alex. What are you doing?" I asked sitting down next to him.
"Nothing" he quickly said, shutting down his computer. I looked at him confused.
"What did you do?" I asked opening that laptop again.
He was watching old music videos of the band. I sighed.
"I'm sorry. This isn't healthy either" he said. "I just really miss her" he added and I put my hand on his shoulder.
"I know. You don't have to apologize. I miss her too."
Then I clicked on the play button of the video. It was "human" by Christina Perri and it was so good. I was really proud of Lauren because she nailed that song.
Alex and I watched a lot of videos laughing about her funny moments and crying because we missed her.
Then someone came in the kitchen.
"Hey, what are you two doing in here?" Michael, our brother asked us. He sat down next to me looking at the computer screen.
"Guys. Stop it! You are making it worse!" he said and this time he closed the computer.
"Let's do something fun."
"Seriously I don't wanna do something fun" I said.
"I know. But you can't stop to live."
Michael drove us to the store so that we would think about something else. He bought us fries and lemonade and he really tried to make us feel better. I bet he also hated the way our parents treated us and that is why he wanted so bad to help us. He was a good older brother. But I wasn't a good older sister. Lauren and I were so close. I could have helped her. I could have protected her. But I didn't and she was already gone for so long.
