(Cas' POV)
Break was slow.
I was cooped up in the house most of the time.
And mother's praying sessions were long.
The only thing that got me through it was the fact that I was going to see Dean at school.
And my best friend Charlie.
During break I didn't get any letters.
I guess future me didn't have any more advice to give.
"Castiel!"
I groaned.
"Yes mother?"
"You have school tomorrow! We need to pray one last time."
I rolled my eyes. Well there goes the next three hours of my life.
We were sitting in the living room, a bible resting on the table in front of us.
"Lord, please show Castiel the way. Lead him from homosexuality. Save him from damnation."
It took all my willpower not to scream.
~~~ (free for naming)
The next day I finally got to escape that twat, I mean, that lovely woman I have the privilege of calling my mother.
"Learn well Castiel!"
Naomi Novak is probably the only mother in Kansas who says that to their kid before they leave for school.
No "have fun," or "love you," no I get a "learn well."
The cougar across the street winked at me while she was getting her mail.
I waved back but I'm pretty sure it was an awkward wave.
About five blocks from school I heard the familiar sound of the Impala's engine behind me.
I turned around to see Dean driving next to me with an unamoosed looking Sam in the backseat.
Dean rolled down the window closest to me.
"How much?"
I tilted my head to the side and he chuckled.
"How much for a quickie?"
I wrinkled my nose before realizing he was joking.
"One hundred dollars for a quickie."
Dean let out a whistle. "Damn Cas you're pretty expensive."
"I mean, it's $50 just to touch the merchandise," I said with a wink.
Dean laughed pretty loudly at that.
"Hop in sugar, I'll give ya a ride. Maybe in exchange you could give me a discount on that quickie?"
"Deal," I said with a smirk, climbing into the passenger seat.
Sam, if possible, looked even more unamoosed. Along with the signature moody teen eye roll.
As soon as we pulled into a parking space Sam did a long legged leap out of the car.
When I got out of the car, thanking Dean, I was nearly barreled over by a flash of red hair and rainbow.
"Cassie!"
I wrapped my arms around Charlie.
"Missed ya too Charles."
She pulled away and I could see her shirt. It was basically the gay pride flag.
"Ya like it?" She said, gesturing to her clothes. Her black jeans also had rainbow glitter on them.
"Beautiful!"
The brunette over there thought so too," she said raising an eyebrow suggestively.
She motioned over her shoulder with her thumb.
I could see a brown haired girl checking out Charlie's ass from across the parking lot.
Dean cleared his throat. Oh, Dean is still here.
"Oh! Sorry. Dean, meet Charlie."
Charlie waved at Dean from across the Impala. He smiled back.
Then we made our way into what I like to call my little escape. Also known as school.
On the way to English, which we all had had together, Charlie did what she always did. Spoke her mind.
"I mean, I like English, but when a poet says a curtain is blue, it doesn't represent the sadness of the poet himself. It mean's the curtain was fucking blue."
I squinted at her.
"Oh sorry Cassie, forgot you don't like swearing."
During English something quite amusing happened.
This rude guy named Dick was yelling at some other guy who didn't want to join the football team.
"It's very dangerous!"
"Oh come on don't be a pussy!"
Take note that the teacher had left the room.
The guy looked helpless so Charlie stepped in.
"See I don't get it. Balls apparently represent guts but the slightest flick to the nuts sends a guy to his knees, while vaginas can push out entire human beings."
Dick Roman, for once, seemed speechless.
"Well, that's, that's bullshit," he said finally.
The rest of the football team were smart enough to know you couldn't argue with Charlie. Especially when she's right.
"Remember Dick, slightest flick to the nuts. Would you like to test my theory?"
The entire room went silent.
"Damn, you go girl," someone from the football team said.
Everyone clapped for Charlie as Dick went off to the corner.
At that moment I was proud to say she was my best friend. Charlie the badass.
Hopefully I didn't offend anyone with my whole religious praying thing. I just made that shit up. Also I'm not saying what religion Cas' mom is so no one is offended.
