Chapter Thirty-Eight.
From then on everything was great. Following through on his statement Sam told everyone he was gay by basically snogging the face of Joss. It was brilliant way to say I don't give a shit what you think but people still said names but we all put them straight plus they were hella scared of Sasha who had decide we were better to hang out with then Charlotte's two man group which Ashby was a lot happier about because now she wasn't the only girl in our group. Not that Ash would ever admit that too me, she was happy whoever she was around with and well, Luke had dyed his hair black and now looked like the most scene kid in our year, boy wise anyway. Jade still had the whole I love nercophilla down to a T in my books. The only bad thing happening was Robert; he had got worse and I mean so much worse. He hurt Ashby mentally and physically and I only had so much patience for him.
"Robert, you have to go to school!" She spoke through gritted teeth trying to keep calm as she basically dragged him down the stairs which he just groaned loudly and went for her from behind.
"Robert Rosser, don't you dare!" Jaynie walked in screaming furiously and instantly Robert dropped his fists quickly along with his angry look which then turned from scared to bored before he walked into the kitchen like nothing had fucking happened. Jaynie sighed, pulling her ponytail tighter, bracing herself to speak to Ash next. "Ashby..." She went to spoke. "No, not happening. It's fine, everything is fine" She spoke with a rawness in her tone, pulling her shoes on and going out the front door, I stared at the door. Thanks for waiting for me Ash, I thought sarcastically. Sighing I got my shoes on as well, preparing myself for the back lash I would get off Ash when she was angry. "Ardon," Jaynie asked and painfully I could hear the exhuastion her voice. Nervously, I turned round to face her while getting my bag to put on but found it wasn't there. "We need to talk when we get home. And... see if Ashby is okay please" She sighed trying to smile but sadness was seeping through. Something about her tone made me go cold, I never wanted it to be hard on Jaynie. Never, she didn't deserve it and I couldn't understand how Robert was okay putting her and his sister through that. "What about, Jaynie?" I questioned the curiosity making me feel sick, that and worrying slightly about how far Ash could've gotten by now.
"I'll explain when you get home. Have a good day" She waved me off with a genuine smile now. I smiled back as bravely as I could before I went out the door. Surprisingly Ashby stood there with her back to me, my bag in her hands.
I snuggled my face in the corner of her neck after moving her hair out the way. "You took your time" She smiled weakly, I guess we wouldn't be talking about what just happened with Robert then. "Jaynie told me she wanted to speak to me when I get home" I explained causally as I begun nipping at her neck causing her to go all squirmy under me while giggling.
"You'll give me a hickey!"
"You didn't mind before" I smirked, continuing, watching her going more squirmy in front of me some more.
"That's because it was, you know, in places you can't see" She murmured, managing to find my hands.
"You mean in places for my eyes only" I pushed, she looked at me out of the corner of her eye before nodding shyly before she pulled away and began to walk to school.
"Oh I think this is yours too" She spoke holding my bag up and I couldn't help but grin. The sunrise made her look beautiful even in the huge coat of hers and made her eyes stand out against the orange and yellow rays. I couldn't help but feel how lucky I was that she was mine again. I could look at her forever and never get bored.
"I love you" I told her, putting my bag over my shoulders before kissing her gently.
"I love you too" She told me..
"Well I'm ready to suffocate myself" I groaned dramatically as I rested my head on Ashby's chest as she awkwardly continued her homework about lighthouses or something.
"Don't say that. They are just exams" She spoke with a disapproving tone, mocks were beginning soon and I really didn't want to do them. I leaned my head backwards and pushed my lips out at her. I wanted more of her attention, Robert had really been cutting into our time recently.
"Give me a kiss" I pleaded with puppy dog eyes and cheeky grin. She rolled her own beautiful ones and placed those soft lips on mine as her hair shield my face with her either side of me.
"Ashby! Donnie! Come down here for a moment" Jaynie interrupted our make out session that was like fucking Spider-Man. I groaned again and longed for lips to still be on mine but she pushed back watching my head when it fell into her lap before getting off her bed. "Come on. We better go down" She spoke at the doorway suddenly which caught me off guard but I did as I was told and followed Ash downstairs with her to find Jaynie sitting at the dining room table. No Robert or Lily or Ryan in sight. Well this was going to be serious talk like rainbows of fun.
"Sit down both of you" She spoke with no emotion in her voice, that wasn't like Jaynie so this certainly wasn't good news and I could feel myself gulping madly, nervous about the unknown.
"Is everything okay?" Ash replied unsure as I felt to which Jaynie just nodded her head in return as we took our seats in front of her.
"Now don't lie to me," Jaynie began in a strong tone. "Are you two in a relationship?" She asked looking straight forward but I could see something flutter in her jaw, she was gritting her teeth. My mind began to think of every swear word known to man right now. How had she figured it?
Ashby opened her mouth but no words came out, yeah we both knew we were in deep shit now.
"What makes y-you think that?" I stammered uncontrollably and that right there could already give her one reason just by my one voice.
"I'm not dumb. I notice the looks you give each other, I know when something is happening" She explained firmly. Well shit, I had really given it away.
"Yes we are" Ashby whispered honestly, looking down at her hands as they knotted themselves together tightly.
"When did you realize?" I asked her full of confused curiousity after a moment of silence past.
"When we went to the forest that day. I grasped the fact that Ardon liked Ashby but Ashby you were harder to notice until recently" Jaynie continued and that hit me hard like fuck me, she saw through me first? I was almost envious at Ash for that fact.
"I have no problem with it. I just don't want it kicking off in my home with the little ones about and I want no one to get hurt. There has to be rules" Jaynie explained sternly, flickering her gaze between to of us to make sure we were taking her seriously and I couldn't help but give a sideways glance to Ash but she looking at Jaynie with a cool face on but I knew she was stressing just as much as I was under the surface. After that we both sat and waited for the rules to be put in place.
