CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Snow, white and pure, floated downward from a light, cloud-filled sky, soundlessly settling on roofs, tree branches, ground and enveloping the world in a cosy comforter of bleached down. My hand touched the icy cold window, staring sightlessly at the beauty of Nature's creation.

"It had been three months." and I'm still standing, alive and breathing.

Walking over to the bathroom, getting myself ready for work. I traced the edge of my chin, staring sightlessly into the mirror. The face was a little pale, sunken and dark eye circles were forming with those tears stain in evident of his leaving. Sucking in a long deep breath, I frowned as I felt the heart thumping with a fading pain embracing me. Misery had set in deep for me, especially with those reminders not able to see Eric's gorgeous looking face and his cheeky voice again. If only I have not denied him, he probably would have given a second thought on leaving.

"Jane?"

I raised my voice a little, "I'm out soon" Gather yourself, Jane.

Checking on myself one last time, I held the door knob and opened back to my bedroom where Henry was standing in front with his usual bright smiles. He had never failed visiting me for the past three months.

"You seemed better after recuperating at home" Henry took a quick scan on me.

I did a brief nod, "Yeah, I had a whole three months of rest"

Just then as we were about to exit from my house, Mom walked out from the kitchen. Her eyes were still filled with worries. She took off her apron, "Are you sure you can manage?"

"Yeah" Sorry Mom. Sorry for lying to you that the wound wasn't recovering for three months.

I wasn't ready to let these two person know about my broken heart syndrome. Having them to cope with a crazy woman stabbing me from the back was quite enough of a worrying matter. Let alone to get dump for the first time I decided to open my heart to a guy.

"Okay" She frowned, "Come back early for dinner. I made some tonic soup"

My lips raised on both ends, "See you"

We walked out of the house. I held out my palm and watched a snowflake land gently into my hand. The weather was cold, describing of the lingering void in my heart. I miss you, Eric.

Just then, Henry turned around, handing over a blueprint, "I was thinking of revamping the office"

"It'd be nice having a new look"

Maybe it would give my heart a little push to feel different.

Maybe it will erase the memories of Eric's and I would be able to heal a little quicker.

"I was thinking of..." I flipped through the documents of the proposal with Appix, "maybe it would be better if we add some more user-friendly functions"

"I agree." Ben replied, "We should meet up soon again on the changes."

I frowned, eyeing at the calendar on my desk, "Can we schedule another meeting next Saturday?"

Ben added, "There are some codes that I needed to rework as well. I will do my best and finalized it by then."

"Thanks" As I briefly glanced through the stuffs on my desk, a file lying at the corner caught my attention. It was Eric's particular. The office intern had yet to put it away.
