CHAPTER EIGHT
It was two in the afternoon. My eyes sparkled in bliss, standing in front of the mirror, admiring the woman in a white floral dress. I swung with my hands pinching the edge of the skirt, humming away as I waited for Eric's message.
[Babe, I am at your doorstep]
I suggested the common movie date. Eric did protest of how it wouldn't contribute to the process of getting-to-know-each-other. But, obediently him, Eric still gave in and agreed to my proposal. I held my matching white tote bag, hopping out of my bedroom. Mother turned around from the sofa. She observed my outfit, raised her eyebrow as she dipped in smiles.
"Are you going... for a date?"
I nodded with any hesitation. My hand stretched out for a pair of white heels from the shoe rack.
Mother stood up, cheekily asking. "Can I have a look at my future son-in-law?"
"Mom", I rolled my eyes, "It's just a date."
She shook her head, "You are already thirty"
"This is the first time I see you going on a date." She grinned happily, "It must be a promising one."
"Mom, I-I... need to go" I startled as I felt my cheek blushing in bliss of joy, "He's waiting."
--
I grabbed a bunch of sweet popcorn and started munching. It tasted much better today for some weird reason. This must be what people always say – to be drowned in love.
"Are you dating the popcorn or me?"
I chuckled at his jealousy. Brushing him off, I shrugged. Eric didn't give in. He snatched the box of popcorn.
I whined on instance, "Hey!"
He gave me a quick wink, "You can have it later when we are in the theatres."
I folded my arms with pouted lips as I continued chewing off the remaining popcorn in my mouth. Eric glanced at the side of his eyes.
Then like a dazzling white knight, Eric grabbed my waist as we suddenly stood so close. My eyes stared at his nervously. I could feel my heart skipped a beat.
He leaned forward, "You're mine even comparing to Popcorn."
I gulped. I could feel my cheek blushing.
Then, Eric suddenly froze, staring at a woman from a distance. My eyes followed a trail and spotted a blond. She was in a very odd outfit, someone you would call nuts for.
I turned back to Eric, nudged him, "You know her?"
Eric shook his head, "Nope" Then he hurriedly pushed me to get inside.
To be honest, I wasn't paying much attention to the movie. I was very much distracted being with Eric. I felt the high awareness being in my best shape. During some of the comical scene, I will refrain myself from laughing too loud. God, it's tiring. And during the entire movie, Eric didn't once try to surprise me with a peck or maybe a hug. Somehow, I was anticipating for such intimacy level when I proposed for the movie date.
After the movie, we walked out with crowd to the main lobby. Eric held a dazzling wink as he suggested, "Let's have dinner at Savernio."
"Why?"
"I need to bring you there alone." He emphasised, "Previously, you ruined my plan and made me bring a whole bunch of girls over."
"You are cute" My finger pointed at his sharp nose. Eric held my waist as he pulled me closer to him. I gasped as I struggled. His face was so close that I could feel his breath.
Eric grinned, "Don't call me cute if you don't want me to kiss you when everyone is staring now."
I gulped as I blushed in embarrassment. Please do so. I shamelessly wanted that kind of intimacy. His kisses was so addictive.
That blond hair woman wearing an oddly looking outfit stood in front of us, "Eric?" Who is she?
Instantly, Eric stopped fooling around as he regained his calm composure. My eyes fell onto Eric who looked terribly uncomfortable.
A big smile worn across her face, "I thought I mistaken someone else as you."
"Bella" Eric nodded slightly, "It's been a long time."
Her beautiful eyes fluttered in joy before turning towards me, "Who is this friend of yours? I haven't seen her before."
Eric gulped before replying, "She is my... god sister"
I stared in astonishment of his reply. God sister?!
So that's what Casanova does. They would quickly deny you being their woman when there were other women around them. Just how convenient for him to call me his God sister. And I was so naive to almost believe that he was serious about marrying me. I am glad that I insisted this date. Else, I would never know this side of him!
Eric startled as he still putting up with that dazzling smile, "W-Why are you here?"
"I was thinking of catching a movie but not sure what to watch." She frowned, looking at the watch on her wrist, "Its dinner time already. Shall we grab some food together?"
Eric nodded without any hesitation, "Yeah...sure. Why not"
I glared at his enthusiasm. He had to even bring along another woman on our dinner date?? My eyes rolled at the unpleasant suggestion.
"I am going home." Fuming in displease, I folded my arms.
"Baby..." He whispered in my ears. "Please..."
My eyes glared at Eric angrily, "Enjoy your dinner, God-Brother"
