School Dances

You stood in the corner of the gym, and watched as everyone around you moved and danced to the loud music. Unlike everyone else, you weren't having much fun. School dances are supposed to be fun, you thought, how did this one go so wrong? Your friends had already left. And, your date had already abandoned you, and escaped to God knows where. And you were left, all alone.

"What a great night," you muttered to yourself. "Just gr-"

"Kylee," You heard a familiar voice speak from behind you. You whipped your head around and saw him. His brown hair styled so perfectly, his eyes sparkling. It was Jc, the guy you've been crushing on for the majority of your life. "Would you like to dance?" He asked, holding out his hand. Behind your excitementd internal screaming, you nodded, and smiled sweetly as he lead you out onto the dance floor.

Almost as if on command, a slow song came on. You blushed as the two of you swayed to the music. You couldn't believe you were dancing with Jc. He has been by far one of your biggest crushes you've ever experienced. The two have been somewhat friends since the beginning of high school, but still, the fact that you were dancing with him was beyond uncomprehendable. Yet, you still kept cool and danced normally.

"You look beautiful tonight, Kylee," Jc spoke.

"And you don't look to bad yourslef," You replied, smiling cheekily. Jc chuckled at your comment. The two of you continued to dance slowly. Jc looked into your eyes and smiled warmly. But he didn't kiss you, he didn't grab your butt. Nothing. He was being a gentlemen. And that really stood out to you.

Everything felt better now. Nothing and no one else seemed to matter. Everything just felt so right, being in his arms. <3
