Not exactly poetry, but it's still nice to the thought)
You are in space
Don't be afraid. You aren't having trouble breathing, or out of control of your own movements
You are simply in the emptiness that is...
Your own solar system
You aren't far from earth. You are half of the length of the moon away from it in fact
The moon is just peaking out from behind the earth from your view
And the sun
It isn't blinding, nor is it dim
It fills you with a warmth similar to drinking hot chocolate on a cold day
You know you are safe
You look down at your home, and realize how small it is
Such a small land to roam
But you are free to do anything now
You glide effortlessly, and thousands of miles seem like just drifting a few hundred feet
You fly past Venus, and it's dangerous aura seems slowed
You can't see the ground on it, as dozens of cream-colored clouds cover its surface
You speed past it, and soon reach tiny little Mercury
It's only slightly larger than the moon, but is so very different compared to it
It's beautiful orange color reminds you of those orange and cream popsicles
But you fly past it too
Suddenly, gravity feels stronger
The hot cocoa feeling turns to liquid metal
You have reached our sun
You are too close though
A solar flare suddenly arcs over your head, dissolving partially into the nothingness of the vacuum
It's too bright
It's too hot
It's too strong
But you manage to slingshot away
Before you know what has happened, you are flying very near to mars
It's gravity catches you and swirls you around playfully
You slow to a stop
Phobos and Deimos are both present, and they reflect the suns light kindly
You realize the hot cocoa feeling is back as you think of the sun
But now it isn't as strong
You look back at your sun
It's so far away
There is a speckle next to it
That is earth
You look down at mars, and spot Olympus Mons
You wonder if a tiny Martian is looking up at you, but quickly push the thought aside
You turn to look behind you
The main asteroid belt beckons you over
As you fly through it, hundreds and thousands of little rocks pass you by
Ice shards glitter brightly, flashing at you
You are out of the belt, and now focus on a new planet
Jupiter is dead ahead
You skim near enough to see The Red Spot
It's two earths wide, and curls around itself ominously
The lines ofThis is unfinished. I am sorry. Perhaps I will work on it again if I'm inspired. Or perhaps not.
