-----"Lynnette, I need you to lock up tonight. Have a goodnight and get some sleep missy!" Charlie said as Lynnette scrubbed her last table. She blew a chunk of her dirty blond hair out of her face as Charlie walked out.
Charlie was an old man that owns the coffee shop Lynnette worked in. He was always happy, with a smile always on his wrinkled face, his white- grey hair cut short. He always wore a pair of slacks and a shirt button down, mainly shades of blue to match his pale blue eyes. He was a short old man, yet still managed to tower over Lynnette's 5'4 figure. Charlie always looked over Lynnette making sure she was always okay, not struggling with the crazy amounts of homework, long hours of work, or home life. He was a very considerate old man, and Lynnette saw him as a fatherly figure.
Lynnette finished her last table taking the wet rag behind that counter and throwing it in the laundry basket. She checked making sure all the machines were off, as she untied the black apron wrapped around her petite waist. She went to the employees break room, grabbing her worn grey Jansport backpack, tucking her apron in, before finally making her way to the front door, to lock it.
"Hey are you guys open?" A deep English accent asked from behind her starling Lynnette. She jumped at the sudden noise turning to the source. A man around her age stood there in a pair of black sweats and white button down. His blond hair was gelled back and his big blue eyes were dimmed with his long dark lashes. His eye brows were dark and thick, making his blue eyes pop. His cheek bones and jaw were strong and nicely shaped. His thin silk button down lightly hugged his large biceps as his arm held the door open over Lynnette's head.
"Uh, can't you read the sign? It says closed." Lynnette said her hand gesturing to the huge Closed hanging on the windows. The mans eyes dragged to the sign as his eyebrows drew in.
"Can't you just stay open for one more customer?" He asked his eyes landing back on her as he moved to tuck a chunk of hair behind her ear. Lynnette's eyes narrowed as she hit his hand away.
"No. Come back tomorrow- during store hours. Goodbye." She said shutting the door, locking it, and walking to her jeep.
"Come on sweetheart, I can pay extra-"she felt a hand grab her shoulder making her swing around.
"Don't touch me buddy, I said we are closed. You saw me lock the door, you saw the 'closed' sign, now leave me alone and go home." Lynnette said before getting out of his grip, and hopping in her jeep.
"So you are a feisty little one huh? Come on cupcake, what do you want? Money? Fame? A good night? All I need is a cup of tea." He said with a wink, his hand holding open her driver's door. She scoffed at him in disgust, swinging her left leg out to kick him away. The stranger groan, moving away as he cradled his stomach.
"You are a pig." She started up her black jeep , giving a fake sweet wave to the mysterious stranger, before speeding off home.
After 10 minutes of driving, Lynnette finally pulled up to her apartment complex. Hopping from her jeep, she walked straight to her door, unlocking it, then stepping in. She was greeted by the hitting of claws on her tile floor. There was a small bark as Lynnette turned her light on. She looked down at her pomsky with a smile as she dropped her bag to the floor before shutting the door behind her. The half Pomeranian half husky, hybrid stared at her with its one blue eye and one green eye, tongue sticking out.
