Three months later

I wake up in bed alone. Where'd Luke go? He's usually here when I get up in the morning. I get up and put on one of his flannels and a pair of panties.

After I freshen up in the bathroom, I head to the kitchen. I find Luke standing by the stove. I walk up and wrap my arms around his waist, resting my head on his bare back. He turns around.

"How's my beautiful pregnant girlfriend?"

"Well, I was lonely. Then I found you in here cooking me breakfast. I'm fine now."

"That's good to hear." He kisses my forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too."

"Sit down. Breakfast will be ready in a moment."

"Okay, but you know you didn't have to do this. I can make breakfast. I'm pregnant not dying."

"I know. But I like making breakfast for you. I enjoy it."

"Well thank you. I appreciate it."

"You're welcome, baby. By the way, that shirt looks better on you than it ever did on me."

I can help but smile. He's really just the sweetest. When we found out I was pregnant three months ago, he vowed to make sure I was exposed to as little stress as possible.

Now that I'm five months pregnant, the only place I really ever go is to the store. Most of the time it's Luke going. He's been so helpful. I couldn't ask for anyone better. Not that I would. Luke is magnificent.

"Here you go, Mags." He sets a plate of pancakes in front of me. Then kisses my cheek.

"Smells delicious. Thanks."

"You're welcome."

After breakfast, I head to the living room while Luke cleans the dishes. When he comes to join me on the couch, I crawl in his lap. He puts his hands on my belly.

"I can't wait 'til this baby gets here. You're going to be such a great mom, Mags. This baby is going to be so spoiled."

"Yeah. You're gonna to be a great dad. If it's a girl, you'll be wrapped around he finger when she's born. If it's a boy, you'll be planning his future in football or something."

We find out what we're having tomorrow. We really can't wait.

"It's crazy how you know exactly what's gonna happen. Even if we've only been together a little over five months."

I turn around so I can face him. I give him a kiss before I say anything.

"Just because we've only been together five months doesn't mean I don't know you. We were close in high school. I've had a thing for you since then. I just didn't know how to tell you. All that matters is we're together now. I love you, Luke."

"I love you too."

We sit there for a little while longer. Then Luke's face brightens up.

"Let's go somewhere."

"Where?"

"It's a special place. What do you say?"

"Sure. Just let me get ready."

"All you have to do is put pants and shoes on. You look good in that shirt."

"You're sure? You don't mind if I wear this shirt to this special place?"

"Not at all. You could wear a potato sack and I'd be fine."

"You're too kind. You're just the sweetest."
