You're Safe
________________________

The next morning, the girls were still very distressed about the whole situation. The men have been dropping hints to something that they couldn't quite figure out. They were unsure if they could actually trust Artem and find comfort in him. Along with the fact that they have no clue how long it will be before they're back in New York.

"Rise and shine, I guess." Sharna says with a groan, not wanting to face today. Wishing she could go back to sleep and wait for this nonsense of a dream to end.

"It doesn't have to be "rise and shine" just yet. Go back to sleep, it's not like they care." Peta says as Lindsay nods in agreement, as her eyes were still shut, not willing to open them yet.

"I can't go back to sleep. You two can, but I'm going upstairs. I kind of feel like a prisoner down here." Sharna says as Peta nods in understanding, before resting her head back down and peacefully going back to sleep.

"Be careful." Lindsay whispered, loud enough for Sharna to hear. "I will." Sharna said with a grin, as Lindsay readjusted her position on the sofa before falling back into her slumber.

Sharna quietly snuck up the stairs, as she spotted Artem asleep on the floor, right beside of the staircase. She tried her hardest to open the basement door without a sound, although the door had a very squeaky noise just as she was shutting it.

She continued to venture through the house, trying to find her way to the kitchen. She heard voices exchanging conversation. Curiosity got the best of her, so she began walking towards the voices.

The two strong voices of two men were coming from the kitchen, the same place where she wanted to go.

"What do we do with them? They know too much as it is, but we can't just keep them here. I'd be willing to take them back to New York for you, so you don't have to deal with the trouble." Gleb says to Val, as Val takes his offer into consideration.

"They don't know anything. This place is dangerous for them, but it may be even more risky to place them back in New York. I'm sure they already know about them being here." Val says with a sigh.

"Has anyone checked on Brittany? The last thing we need is for her to get-" Val stops mid-sentence, as Sharna finally enters the kitchen, deciding she had been eavesdropping long enough.

Val intensely watched her every move, as she strides into the kitchen. "Where's Artem? Isn't he supposed to be watching you?" Val asks, as Gleb leaves the room. "What am I gonna do? Run away and leave my friends here?" Sharna asks a rhetorical question, so Val decides to not respond.

"Why are you up so early? It's only 6:00am." Val asks her, changing the subject, as he pours himself a cup of coffee. "9:00am where I'm from." She says, referring to New York. "Right." He says, as he began to pour another cup of coffee, for Sharna.

"I don't want any." Sharna says with a bit of sass in her tone, as Val stops pouring into the cup. Instead of responding, he pours the coffee out of the cup and into the sink. "Suit yourself." Val shrugs as Sharna takes a seat at the bar counter.

"What does your gang, or mafia, or whatever you call it, do exactly?" Sharna asks out of nowhere, as Val takes a sip of his coffee.

"That's information you don't need to worry about, nor do you need to know about." He says, as he takes a seat directly across from her. "Well, considering I'm staying at your house, with your men, it probably is information I should be worried about." She presses further as Val sighed in exhaustion.

"You don't worry about what my men and I do. Even if you're scared, just know that you're safe. Okay?" Val says with very little care in his voice, but it was still there, and somewhat noticeable.

"Why should I think that I'm safe? You shot a man back in New York, one of your men shot one of my best friend's, apparently you have another gang after you, let's not forget that your men technically abducted me, yet you tell me that I'm safe... makes sense." She finishes her long statement with a sarcastic remark as Val rolls his eyes.

"You're making a big deal out of me shooting a guy. That nothing compared to what I have done and what I could've done." He says with a very serious tone, as Sharna keeps eye contact with him, just as a loud "Ow" was heard.

Sharna immediately turns her head around, searching for whatever made that sound. She relaxes as Lindsay slowly limps into the kitchen, with the help and support of Artem and Peta.

"Val, I think her leg is hurt worse than we thought." Artem says, as he guides Lindsay to one of the bar stools. "I already said we can't take her to the hospital." Val said with a monotone, as Lindsay continued to glare at him.

"It's not a joke, man. I took a look at it, and I'm definitely not a doctor, but it looks infected." Artem says with worry in his voice as Val groans. "Fine, but I'm not going. Alan caused this mess, he'll take her." Val says as Artem nods.

"What mess did I cause, and who am I taking?" Alan asks, just as he began to yawn as he walked into the kitchen. "Get dressed, because you're taking little blondie to the hospital." Val instructs as Alan rubs his eyes, still not fully awake.

"The little blonde has a name." Lindsay quickly speaks, as Artem chuckles. "Lindsay, was it?" Val asks her, pretending to care. "Ding Ding, we have a winner." Lindsay responds, with a sarcastic and enthusiastic tone.

"Okay, what am I gonna tell them when they ask questions?" Alan asks Val, going back to the previous subject. "Tell them it was a hunting accident." Val shrugs as Alan rolled his eyes. "Nobody hunts in Los Angeles." Alan points out as Val nods his head.

"I don't know, just pay the doctor and tell him to keep his mouth shut or else." Val says as Alan nods, and Lindsay immediately looks frightened by his statement. "What does "or else" mean?" Lindsay dares to ask as Val quirks up one eyebrow, as if he was thinking.

"You don't wanna know." He smirks, before taking another sip of his coffee as Lindsay decides to stay quiet for now.

"I guess I'll go get ready. Be ready in twenty minutes." Alan says to Lindsay, as she nods. Lindsay immediately looks to Peta, with a look of fear in her eyes. "I don't want to go with him by myself." She whispers to Peta. "Don't worry babe, of course I'm going with you." She giggles, hoping to help comfort and relax Lindsay.

"Thank you, Peta. Sharna, are you going or staying?"  Lindsay asks as Sharna takes a moment to think. "I'll stay here." She decided as the girls nod, while Val sighed. "Can't wait to hang out with you all day." He says with a very unenthusiastic tone, making sure it was obvious that he was annoyed.

"Likewise." She simply responds before leaving the kitchen and going into the living room.
