Just Be Honest
________________________

Alan, Lindsay, and Peta had returned home from the hospital, shortly after Sharna discovered who Emma was. There weren't many suspicions from the doctor, so that was good for the gang, but not very satisfying to the girls.

Sharna had explained everything to the girls, especially about her recent discovery of who Emma is. The girls were now just as fearful as Sharna was.

"Do you think one of these gang members took her? Or do you think someone else broke into the house and took her?" Lindsay asks the girls, wanting to get their honest opinion on the current situation.

"I truthfully don't know what to think. If one of the men here took her, that means he's working in cahoots with the opposing gang. That's just flat out terrifying, because that means he would have full access to us at any given moment." Sharna replied, as Lindsay nodded her head in agreement.

"I don't know what to think of it, and I don't want to investigate either. All I know is that I don't want to become the next Emma." Peta gives her opinion as well, as the other girls nodded, now deciding to stay quiet.

"Good evening, ladies." The sound of Artem's gentle Russian voice filled the living room, causing the girls to flinch until they recognized the comforting voice and who the voice belonged to.

"Can we ask you something?" Sharna asks, as Artem looked at her with confusion, as to what her question might be about. "You can always ask me anything, but you're not always guaranteed an answer." He said with a monotone, as Sharna began asking her question.

"Who took Emma?" Sharna asks bluntly as Artem raises his eyebrows. "I wish I could tell you, but even I have no clue. We have our suspicions, but we don't know for definite who took her. We know exactly who has her, so at least we've got that down." He responds as Sharna nods her head as she continues to come up with theories about this entire situation.

"Am I the only one who feels like we're in a thriller movie?" Lindsay asks, attempting to lighten the mood, and everyone lightly chuckles. "Get used to that feeling, it's always like that around here." Artem says causing Lindsay to raise her eyebrows in worrisome.

"Has anyone seen Val?" Gleb asks as he enters the room, with an angry look on his face. "He should be in his office. He was there ten minutes ago." Sharna said, as Gleb groaned.

"A lot can happen in ten minutes, Cherry." Gleb says quickly as he glares at her before exiting the room, heading out to search for Val. "Did he just call you cherry?" Peta asks in disgust as her face twisted into a unpleasant look of cringe.

"I'm pleased that he took the time to give me a nickname, but Cherry? Because of the red hair? C'mon, be a bit more creative." Sharna said with seriousness as Artem busted out a laugh.

Artem's laughing immediately stops when the sound of a loud gunshot is heard by everyone in the room. "Girls, get down on the ground." Alan says quickly, making sure that the girls stayed safe. He wasn't the nicest guy in the house, but he wasn't cruel either, unlike others...

"Do I need to repeat myself? On the ground, now!" He says once again, but this time with much more force as his voice echoed off of the walls. The girls knew that he was very serious, so they huddled on the ground as quickly as they could. Although Lindsay struggled a bit, between balancing herself and making sure she doesn't fall to the floor, face first.

"I'm gonna go check out the situation. Artem, you stay here and keep them safe at all costs. Got it?" Alan says, suddenly taking charge even though he technically isn't one of the leaders. Artem nodded, showing him that he was acknowledging and understanding everything Alan was saying to him.

With that, Alan disappeared from the room, as tears began to brim in the girl's eyes. "Calm down, you're safe with me. Okay? Just trust me. You're all going to be okay." Artem said quietly, with a soft and gentle voice, giving the girls the reassurance that they really needed at the moment.

"Can we just go back to New York? I don't see the reason why you guys are keeping us here. It's pointless." Sharna said with anger laced in her voice. "It's goes beyond us just keeping you here. Other people know about you guys now. Without us, you could be in danger." Artem attempted to explain as Sharna shook her head.

"Without you guys, we would still be in New York, probably clocking out at the bank, and heading back to our places. If it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be in any danger." Sharna finished as Lindsay shook her head, taking Sharna's side as she began to frustrated.

"Screw you guys, and screw California too. I can't wait to get back to New York." Lindsay said lowly, as Artem stayed quiet after that.
