Leac's POV.

That really hurt. Father must've sent a guardian to protect the ruby and royal opal.

"Intruders are not permitted near the royal opal or the ruby. Identify yourse- Leac?! Princess Leac! Is it truly you?"

Jim's POV.

I noticed Leac's absence at school and Trollmarket- I wonder what's going on? I'll voids her place after school and before training.

"Lake! Back to climbing!" Yelled Coach.

"Yes sir!" I yelled back.

"Where's Walsh?" He asked.

"Must be out sick- she's been gone for two days now. Let's hope it isn't too serious." Claire said nervously.

"Alright. Back to work Lake!"

"So, we gonna go to her house and see what's wrong?" Claire asked as she walked with me and Toby.

"I thought your parents didn't want you near me?" I asked.

"They didn't. But after they found you in the woods unconscious and I said you were protecting me- they allowed me to hang out with you. And they also allowed me to hangout with you because they saw Leac and they say they were friends of her moms in the past or something." She explains.

"They were?!" Toby screamed.

"Ummm... Yeah?" She says unsurely. She doesn't know that Leac is an elf- so she isn't suspicious with her parents yet!

"Oh! Master Jim! Master Tobias!" Sarah yells running from the house. She had envelopes in her hands... "These are for you..." She said handing them to us.

"Hello I'm Claire Nuñez." Claire greeted while I opened my letter.

Dear Jim Lake,

By the time you are reading this, will be the time I should be getting your gifts- I have yet to discover if your worthy, but do not fret, if you are not, I'm sure the person who is will allow you to share these gifts or the magic within them. Now my father has sent the gifts to this planet but far away from California. I was only permitted to bring one person, I chose Mace. I will return soon enough. But Jim, you mustn't worry for me. I promise I'll be back home soon. Do not worry so much about your friends and family- especially your mother. She will understand if you tell her your a trollhunter- I'm sure of it.

I was confused by the R and O in her name. What does it stand for?

Toby's POV.

I opened my letter after Jim did.

Dear Tobias.

I hope I haven't worried you much, if I have I'll be sure to make it up to you. I am on a journey to get the gifts from a temple far from California. I'll be home soon enough. I hope when I get home, we may go to that cafe you spoke of a long time ago. There is something I wish to tell you. You may not believe me, but when I yelped in pain when you first grabbed my wrist at school- it was because I felt a burning sensation. Which can only mean one thing. I'm sorry Toby... I truly am. I'll explain the rest or you may ask Sarah what it means... I sincerely apologize Master Tobias...

I was confused, I had so much running through my head. Why did that sensation mean? Am I gonna die? Am I cursed? What does the R and O mean?
