Every year, I went over to my friend Fiona Kay's house for New Years Eve.

She had a party every year too.

She's like my bestest friend ever!

Just there's one thing I hate about going over there.

Her younger brother, Robbie, is a total complete asshole. He is always a jerk every time I see him.

He's going to be there this year (like always) and I'm gonna have to put up with the lame name calling and the jokes and the shoving and pranks and such.

He always has a friend over, as these past... four years? Anyways, he's had this one guy over, Parker something and they pull pranks together and then run off.

I think they're gay.

Anywho! This year is going to be totally different.

But I'm a little late to her party.

Like, 3 hours late.

It's 11:50.

Good thing I'm right in her drive way, am I right?

"I'm sticking with my New Years resolution this year!" I announced as I stepped through the door.

Some guests laughed while others just ignored me.

"Y/N! You made it!" Fiona cheerfully greeted me at the door. She hugged me and then we made our way to the kitchen.

"There she is! My shining star!"

There he is! The big pain in my ass!

I shot Robbie a fake smile and set my things down on the counter.

Parker chuckled and sipped from his glass.

Robbie's smile disappeared from his face and his arms dropped back to his sides.

Was he... going to give me a hug?

No, he was going to pull some childish joke. Tape a sign to my back or whatever.

"So I'll go get you a drink?" Fiona asked me. I smiled and nodded.

She gave a thumbs up to me and headed out of the room, but stopping to glare at Dan and Phil over there.

Robbie smirked and held his hands up in a surrender position.

She rolled her eyes and went into the living room.

I crossed my arms and glared at the two.

"I'm gonna go... help Fiona." Parker said, setting his glass down and following her.

As soon as he was gone, Robbie walked over to me and leaned on the counter like he was some cool-guy wanna be.

"Hi Y/N, it's nice to see you." He smiled.

I rolled my eyes.

"That's nice, Robert."

"You can call me Robbie you know."

"Okay, whatever Robbie." I said sarcastically.

"You look nice." He said.

What was he doing? He would never say that.

"Thanks. You too." I said.

It was so not true though. He wearing jeans and a red v-neck tee.

It was totally hot.

Wait, what? When did that get in my vocabulary?

"So... how's your, uh, job?" Robbie asked, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

Hold up.

Was this guy flirting with me? The guy who hates my guts?

"Okay, Robbie. Just cut the act okay? Save it. What are you doing?" I said. Robbie's face blushed red, he opened his mouth to speak but Parker interrupted him.

"Hey, the ball's about to drop you guys. Everybody's in the living room." He smiled, pointing behind him.

"Okay, thanks Park," Robbie said. Parker nodded and headed back into the living room. "Come on, let's go."

Robbie took my hand and we went into the living room, joining the crowd.

I tugged my hand from Robbie's grip and he tucked his hands into his pockets.

"So aren't you going to go hang with your boyfriend?" I asked Robbie.

"What? Boyfriend? What?" Robbie asked confused. "What boyfriend?"

"That Parker guy, isn't he your boyfriend or whatever?" I asked Robbie.

"You mean the guy who's making out with my sister? You think he's my boyfriend?" Robbie said, voice strictly monotone. I looked over his shoulder to see Parker and Fiona making out on the couch in the corner.

"So the where is your boyfriend?" I asked Robbie.

He groaned and threw his head back to the ceiling.

"I'm not gay."

"That's what John said." I mumbled.

"What?"

"Nothing."

Robbie shook his head.

"If I was gay, would I do this" he asked me, his green eyes making my knees want to give out.

"3! 2! 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Some guy yelled.

Before I could cheer, Robbie smashed his lips on my and kissed me roughly, hungrily.

I had no idea what I was doing but then I was kissing him back in a second.

We stood there kissing until he pulled back and stared into my eyes.

"But, I thought you hated me." I asked. He scoffed.

"Hate you? Y/N, I have loved you since we met! How could I hate you?" He laughed softly.

"You're always pulling pranks and calling me names." I said. He laughed.

"That's what guys do to impress a girl! We play the bad boy card because we don't know how to tell her we love her!" He laughed. I smiled.

He was pretty cute and nice, real nice to others at least.

Maybe he'll be my New Years resolution.

I could stick with him.
