When Spencer arrived homehe found Aaron in the kitchen with Jack. They were fixing dinnertogether, Aaron showing Jack how to layer lasagna noodles with themeat, sauce, and cheese.
It was so domestic.
Spencer hadn't expectedto walk in on a scene that looked so normal.
That looked so happy.
He could feel the vial ofdilaudid weighing down his pocket and he really wanted nothing morethan to go into the bedroom and try to forget the last 24 hours. Hejumped when he felt a hand on his arm.
"Spencer?" Aaronlooked at him with concern.
It kind of made him feelsick.
Where was that concernlast night?
"What-" he clearedhis throat, "What's going on?" It was all Spencer could musteras a reply.
Jack ran up to the two menexclaiming excitedly, "Daddy's showing me how to makela...lasannn...lasannna?"
Chuckling, Aaron added,"Lasagna. We wanted to surprise you with dinner."
Spencer's brow furrowedas he looked around the kitchen and saw the fruits of their labors:lasagna just about to go into the oven, a fresh salad tossed in alarge bowl with cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, red onions, andcucumbers, and a loaf of garlic bread. It looked quite good, actually.
It was sweet.
Aaron moved a littlecloser, placing a gentle kiss to Spencer's forehead. "Dinnerwill be another 30 minutes or so. Why don't you and Jack go to theliving room and work on the puzzle you two started last week."
That sounded ok.
Turning, Spencer headed tothe living room grabbing Jack's hand along the way. He stoppedright before they entered the room ahead of them and looked back toAaron. "Thank you, for dinner. It's nice."
Aaron smiled back at hisson and his lover. "You're welcome."

After dinner, Aaron hadJack go to his room to play. Spencer curled up on the couch with amug of excessively sweetened coffee and a blanket Garcia had knittedfor them as a house warming present three years ago when they movedin together. Aaron sat on the chair across from the coffee table.
How ironic.
Aaron cleared his throatas he began, his gaze focused on the table between them, "Spencer,I've been thinking about last night. I know I wasn't in my rightmind-I'd had too much to drink..." He paused for a moment incontemplation. "That's been happening a lot lately, and I wantit to stop. I don't remember much of last night and that scaresme. I know I need help to work through my issues." He stoppedagain and shifted his eyes up to the doctor's before continuing, "Iwant to blame Lewis for everything, but I can't. I need to own upto my actions. I've decided to start seeing a therapist; the FBIwill provide one. I've already talked to Cruz and he's set itup." He took in Spencer's shocked expression. "Can you pleaseforgive me for how I've acted? I know I don't deserve it, but Ineed you by my side, Love."
Spencer shuddered at theterm of endearment.
Love.
