I am Luna, Princess of the Night, younger sister of Celestia, Princess of the Sun. It all started the when I had my first nightmare. Dreams are my domain, or at least they are one of my domains. I was the least likely pony in Equestria to have a nightmare!

This is how it went:
I was in a peaceful garden, where the flowers were bigger than ponies, and colored with all the shades of the sunsets.
Suddenly, one by one the flowers withered and died. I gasped and shrunk away from them. Then, a blue smoke erupted from the last live flower, which was pitch black. The glittering smoke swirled around in a tornado-like fashion. 'Hello, Luna.' A voice came from the smoke, saying my name as if it were a cruel, offensive word. 'Who are you?' I demanded. 'Why, I am you!'
From there, the dream ended, as I sat up in my bed.
After that, I went to Celestia, and told her about the dream.

I went to my sister's chambers, where Diamond Destiny, the royal seamstress, was adjusting my sister's new Gala dress, as the Grand Galloping Gala was but a week away.

"Why are you telling me this?" Tia snapped, her flowing pink mane held back while Diamond sewed gemstones onto the neckline of the dress, "I'm not your personal information holder! Go talk to Starswirl the Bearded or somepony else. I am busy!"

I trotted away, to find somepony who'd listen to me, in particular, Starswirl the Bearded, the teacher of me and my sister. The old wizard was taking down notes. A scroll flowed off the edge of his desk, trailing halfway across the room. A quil pen was flying across the scroll, surrounded by his golden aura of magic.

Apparently, he knew that it was I who had entered.

"Luna. What is wrong?" he asked, not looking up from his scroll.

I took a deep breath, then told him about my dream. He scowled in an all-too familiar look of concentration.

"Child. I assure you this, and only this," Starswirl began,"Your 'nightmare' as you call it, was nothing to worry about. If you don't mind, I must get back to my studies. Please leave. "

" But I-"

"Now!"

I trotted out of the study and through the hall. Not knowing where to go, I went to the palace library. I made my way to a corned shadowed by a shelf full of thick books. I sat there for a moment, just thinking about my day so far. That is when the voice returned.

Author's Note: yes. I like ponies. A lot actually. So go laugh all you want, you won't change who i am.
