They sat down on opposite sofas and Cas reclined back in his seat, faking casualness.

"What do you want, Dean?"

Dean rubbed his neck in a familiar gesture of uncertainty and glanced briefly up at Cas before looking at the ground again.

"I want you. I want you to come home, please Cas. I love you, please give me another chance to show you. To be the partner you deserve."

Cas was quiet. He wanted to, Gabe was right - of course he still loved Dean. But was it the right thing for him? Probably not.

"You know why I left," he said edgily, trying to buy himself a little more time.

Dean buried his head in his hands and nodded. "Yes, Cas I'm so sorry - for everything. I never should have done that to you, I should have opened up and talked to you, not shut you out. I've missed you so much, these last few weeks have been hell without you. The only reason I waited so long to come talk to you was that I wanted to make sure I could make things better."

Cas gazed at him skeptically. "Uh-huh. And how exactly do you plan on doing that?"

Dean looked up uncertainly again before reaching for his neck and pulling a necklace up by the chain. On the end dangled a bright red tag that read; Two Weeks Sober!

Cas gave up trying to look like he didn't care about what Dean was saying and leaned forwards to see it better.

"What is this Dean?" He asked, wanting to make absolutely sure that it was what he thought it was.

Dean smiled hesitantly, clearly sensing Cas change in attitude. "I've stopped drinking. I swear, I haven't gone near alcohol since you left. I'm going to a.... Group. For people in similar situations. We meet once a week. This is something Charlie made for me to wear, she thought it would help me focus on what I'm trying to do. It hasn't been easy and I know it's going to get harder before it gets easier, but I think I can do it. I will do anything to get you back, to prove myself to you. I will be a better partner for you, I'll be a better person for everyone. Please, just give me another chance."

Dean was shaking by this point and his voice broke on the final sentence. He gazed across at Cas pleadingly as he considered what Dean had said.

"Do you remember when we first met?" Dean nodded and Cas looked up at the ceiling, folding his hands in his lap.

"Life was so much simpler then," Cas sighed before meeting Deans eyes seriously. "What we had...... That was more then I ever dreamed of having. I don't want to lose that. I'll try if you do, everyone makes mistakes and I will support you in getting better. However, if things ever go back to the way they were before, if you stop trying, then I'm gone again."

Dean's eyes shone with relief. "They won't, I promise. Thank you, I love you so much Cas."

Cas stood and stretched, giving Dean his first truly happy smile in months. "Come on nerd, let's go home."

Dean beamed back and walked over to Cas, pulling him into a tight hug. "This is the part where you say you love me too Angel," he muttered.

"Oh yeah, I love me too." Cas managed to keep his voice completely serious and his grin was hidden in Deans shoulder.

Dean let out a bark of laughter. "Oh Cas, you never change."

They finally drew back enough that they could see each other and Cas hesitantly leaned in and kissed Dean shyly.

Dean kissed him back and for the first time in what seemed like forever there was no traces of alcohol in the kiss, it was just pure and sweet.

They were both grinning when they broke away. Cas wrapped his arms around Deans neck and jumped, wrapping his legs around his waist with a giggle.

"Carry me home!" He cackled and planted another kiss on Deans cheek. Dean laughed and spun around on the spot.

"As you wish, Angel."
