"Rose!" her mother called from the garden.
I walked down the stairs, assuming another talk, which I wasn't looking forward, ever since my parents decided to pressure me into an alarming test that could potentially ruin my precious health for good.
Yes, I said 'potentially', because well, I've never near enough to a rose, other than the one time where I freaked out and decided I would never go near another damnin' rose again; to know if I actually am allergic to them or not.
You see, on the day I was born, my dad had brought in a lovely bouquet of red and white roses to give to my mom for bringing a baby girl into his life. Both of my parents loved roses, so they decided to name me 'Rose'. But thing is, a rose petal fell on my nose, and no matter how hard I cried, no one would get that stupid petal of me. I'm sure you know how delicate baby skin is and that petal gave me the most horrifying rash, and ever since that day, I have not been near a single rose, my life.
My parents told me that it was ridiculous of me to have a fear of what they loved most so they decided to give me a flippin' test that could flip my whole word around! How thoughtful of them!
"Rose! There you are! I would like you to meet this young man! His name is Luke Grayson and he'll be helping you get over your fear of roses!" Mom beamed at the guy, wearing a black hoodie in the middle of summer.
Wait a minute; did she just say Luke Grayson? The Luke Grayson that used to bully me in second grade by throwing all my toys out the classroom window?
As I approached him, he looked up, caught me staring at him, and gave me a devilish smirk.
"Nice to see you, Rose. It's truly been a long time."
