"Yes, nice to see you too, Grayson, it has been a truly been a long time since you were kicked out of school." I mirrored his smirk.
He narrowed his eyes at me. "I'm here to help you, not to start another fight between us."
I was about to open my mouth to give him another of my witty comebacks, when my mom cleared her throat and said, "Rose! I do not appreciate you acting this way in front of someone, who's only trying to help you! I know you two don't have the best past together –"
I snorted and rolled my eyes. "That, Mom, was the understatement of the year."
How could my mom not see what a horrible person he was? I mean, sometimes, I feel like my mom's brain is being eaten up by worms, due to old age.
"Do not go sassy with me, young lady. You're going to listen to me and accept his help, no matter what issues you have, do you understand, Rose?"
I grumbled a 'yes' and walked away.
I heard Luke clear his throat behind me. "Um, Rose? I was thinking we could start now, seeing you only have 24 hours to prepare for your test."
I turned around and glared for a moment before I sighed, giving in. "Fine."
"Great, now go up and change," he ordered.
"Why?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Well, munchkin, we're going out, and the last thing I want, is to be seen with a girl, wearing funny, mismatched pajamas," he stated.
I looked down at my clothes in horror. I hadn't realized a guy had seen my embarrassing pajamas, especially when the top had a Disney princess on it and the pants were pink with hearts on them.
Luke had an amused look on his face and he was biting his lip, trying not to burst out laughing.
I glared. "Just so you know, if you tell anyone about this, I will hunt you down and beat the lights out of you."
"Munchkin, aggression isn't a good look on you."
