Jaime's P.O.V.

May 17th, 2004

My birthday was usually only another day but today I was going to make it mean something. I was going to tell Rosa how I feel about her. She really was something. Beautiful brown hair so dark it was almost black and light blue eyes clear like water.

She promised me that we'd have today to ourselves, no Ryan. Don't ask me why but I've never liked the kid, just this feeling in my gut. The last bell rang and I rushed to Rosa's locker. I had beat her there and I was pretty amused at first but then I saw why. At the end of the hall there she was with Ryan. They got halfway to where I was when he stopped her. Leaning down, he kissed her. My mood immediately dropped. She blushed and they said their good-byes going to their own lockers. She smiled at me.

"Hey birthday boy." Her voice was sweet, just like her perfume, and just like that I couldn't be mad at her because he did that on purpose. He knew I liked her, everyone did. He took her so I couldn't tell her how I feel with out complicating things. "Ready to go?" she asked taking me away from my thoughts.

"Lets just drive." I said. I just wanted to get away. From their kiss, from her dad, from our problems. She smiled again.

"Then take me away." And I did. After driving until it was dark outside I saw a place that looked interesting. I pulled into a park and looked over to Rosa. Her eyes were on the sky.

"Jaime, look how beautiful the stars are." I couldn't bring myself to that night because, no matter how beautiful the sky was, she was the most beautiful thing I'd ever lay eyes on. We got out of my truck after I turned the engine off, leaving the keys in the ignition. I took out a few blankets that I kept in the backseat. I threw them in the bed of my truck as she headed to the drivers seat.

"I made this for you." She told me inserting a CD and turning it up. The first song to play was My Sweet Fracture. We laid in the back and just looked at the stars.

"Jaime," she whispered after a few moments.

"Yeah?"

"We're growing up you know. Things are going to change. What if we change, if we fall apart?" Her voice grew somber.

"I'll always be here." I leaned over to her and held onto her, "you'll always be my favorite."

A/N: sorry it was short and I changed it but it will make sense in time.
