*Xander's POV*

I got in my car and drove as soon as I heard the news. I couldn't think straight. How could I have let this happen? I should of been with her. Who would want to hurt her? I was speeding down the roads, skipped a red light or two, honestly don't get how I made it in one piece.

I rushed out the car and to the waiting room where her whole family was consoling her two best friends. Jesse and Carter were both elbow deep in blood. Carter was even wearing Rome's sweater because her shirt was bloody and in her lap. I went up to them frantically and asked what had happened.

"W-we were just on our way to a movie and London s-she want to take the long way you know, by the waterfront. We were just laughing and talking when five goons came and tried to take our money. We told them to back off, but they didn't so we had to defend our selves." Carter started before her voice began to crack. Jesse picked up after her.

"We were doing pretty well, but then the lead goon took London and held real close to him and before we knew it she had passed out. The guys left and we were left to tend to a bleeding and unconscious best friend." Jesse fell into sobs again.

"Well where is she? Is she doing okay?"

"We don't know. She's in surgery and has been for the past half hour." Rome seemed frustrated but tried to control his emotions. It was working very well.

"I can't! I can't do this again! God please don't take another one of my children from me. I can't bare the pain, again." Her mother cried as Mr. Edwards held her. It was such raw emotion, I couldn't bare it. It just reminded of waiting in the hospital hallway for my mom to wake up. I had to get out of there.

I walked out the door and into a cool breeze. The bullets of sweat and the heavy breathing lessened as I took in the fresh air. Before I knew it, my brother had rushed up to me.

"Aunt Veanna told me what happened is she okay?"

"We don't know she's in surgery."

"Do they know who did it?"

"No, Jesse and Carter said it was a random mugging. Xavier, what if she's not okay? What if us waiting for her is like us waiting for Mom?"

"Xander, you can't think like that. She'll be okay, she won't leave you like this, she wouldn't." my chest heaved as I thought of all the negatives that could happen to her. I thought of how stupid I was of ignoring my feelings for her and taking forever to be with her. I still barely have her and now I could lose her all together.

>Jesse's POV<

I stood in a black dress and blue heels with a big black hat that protected me from the rain as I stood with Carter in a crowd of people. Carter and I stood crying over the casket, in the cemetery. The air was sharp and rigid as the cold air hit my skin and the rain helped no better. Many people comforted us and asked our relationship on the deceased. When it was finally over, someone handed me a tissue and I thanked them before finding Carter and we walked out to the parking lot. I dried my fake tears and smirked at Carter. Our car came and we hopped in.

"Hey Anthony!" I greeted.

"Did they buy it?"

"Yup, I'm such a good actress, it's scary."

"What about me?" Carter questioned.

"Not bad. I still did better." I teased and laughed. Anthony started driving around the cemetery.
