He did find the letters and he asked about them. I said they helped me to recover. I told him that the ring I wear was going to be your promise ring. He listened. He seemed angry I didn't tell him before. We sat in silence for a while and just I was going to excuse myself when he asked about my smoking. I explained how I used to smoke but quit for a few years. But the night I left I did have a cigarette or two. He asked if I'd had anymore whilst he was gone. I told the truth and yes, I had had four. He nodded and began to leave the room. When he asked how I felt about our kiss I told him I enjoyed it and would do it again if I stopped smoking. He threw the packet out.
