Jess's POV:

"Hey Guys!" Aiden chirped, inviting everyone to the table. "Oh, who's this?" Aiden asked,

gesturing to Holly. "I'm Holly," she replied, shaking his hand. "Aiden. Nice to meet you,"

he responded, "I'm sorry we don't have enough seats, I was only expecting the five of us

to be here."

"She can have mine," I responded, gesturing to my seat. I leaned in and whispered to her,

"take it. It's next to Gil" She smiled and sat down. "Thanks" she mouthed, scooting her seat

in. Maya scowled at Holly. "First of all, we have to decide whether or not we'll be

competing in the school building competition," Gil started, "All in favour of being in the

competition?"

"Aye!" Everyone but Holly shouted.

I looked over at Gil and noticed that he was glancing over at Holly.

I smiled to myself.

You need to get those two together I thought, Maya isn't right for him.

"Hey Gil, could you and Holly come help me with something real quick," I started before

Maya interrupted. "Sorry, I don't think you really need help right now hon," she said,

smirking at Holly, "but if you do, I'm sure I can do it instead of this... thing here."

Aiden looked up in shock, as if he regretted dating her before Gil did.

"Maya, what has gotten into you?" Gil asked, scowling at Maya.

"Oh my God, Gil, open your eyes! Holly has been making Goo-goo eyes at you ever since

you two were in the car together!" she yelled.

Holly sank back in her chair, her face beet red.

"Maya-" He started, before being cut off.

"Listen Gil, I've seen the way you were looking at her. Glancing at her when you thought

nobody was looking. I get it. I'm not good enough."

"Maya-" he repeated.

"No. I'll let you have her. I'm breaking up with you Gil," she said, "Oh, and cancel the rest

of the meeting."

And with that, she stormed out of the house and slammed the door.

I looked Gil and Holly, their faces equally red.

Aiden and I made eye contact and I could tell that the both of us were equally

uncomfortable.

"Come on Holly, I'll take you home," Gil finally said, grabbing his jacket.

She nodded and followed him out the door.

Gil's POV:

Wow...

Maya's gone...

I sighed and opened the car door, getting inside.

I didn't like Holly... did I?

I shook that idea out of my head and started driving Holly home.

Twenty minutes passed, and the only sound that could be heard was the faint sound of

car tires, brushing against the road.

"Right," Holly eventually said.

"What?" I asked, looking over.

"Turn right... that's where my house is." She repeated.

I turned the vehicle and pulled into her driveway.

Without a word, she left the car and walked inside.

I watched her walk into the house, and stayed in the driveway for a moment.

I saw her silhouette in the window, and noticed that she was staring directly at me, with a

confused look on her face.

We made eye contact, which I quickly broke, my face turning red.

Clearing my throat, I backed out of the driveway and went back to Aiden's house.

Oh god... I thought to myself as I realized something.

Maya was right.

I was falling in love.
