After the boys and I left the hospital we headed for the nearest restaurant, which a small restaurant called Izas. It was a Mexican restaurant.
"What can I get for you today?" Our waiter asked.
"I'll have the supreme nachos with no tomatoes and a rasberry tea." I said.
"I'll have the chicken tacos and a lemon tea with no ice." Travis said.
"And I'll have the chicken and beef fajita with no onions and a strawberry tea." Ace said handing the waiter our menus.
"Okay. I'll be right back." The waiter said as he left.
"So Ace, how did you two meet." Travis asked.
"I'm her new neighbor. We stay next door to each other. I went her house after mom and I had finished unpacking the other day and introduced myself. We started talking and flirting as we got to know each other a bit better. Before I knew it, my mom was asking her over for dinner." Ace explained chuckling.
I could feel my cheeks heat up as I blushed.
"Where are you from?" My brother asked.
"Texas." Ace drawled.
"What made you move here?"
"We needed a change after my grandfather died." Ace looked down sadly.
I took his hand and squeezed it, silently telling him that I was here.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Travis said.
Just then, our waiter came back with our food. We ate and goofed off for the rest of the night. When we finished eating, we said goodbye to my brother and headed home. Emmett opened the door for us and asked how our day went. We told him everything. By the time we finished, I was dead on my feet. Annette gave me pajamas to put on and showed me where I would be sleeping. I didn't bother to look at the room as I got into bed. I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
ACE'S POV
"Dad?" I asked.
"Yes son?" He replied.
"I-Is it weird to have strong feelings for a girl you just met?" I stuttered.
"Why are you asking?" He said raising an eyebrow.
"Because I-I think I'm in l-love with Simone." I whispered looking at my lap.
"It's not weird son. You can't help what you feel. I have a feeling she feels the same way about you." He said ruffling my hair.
"Did you feel the same way when you met mom?" I asked.
"Yes I did. I fell head over heels in love with her the moment our eyes connected. It was as if time stood still." He said smiling to himself.
"I want to keep her forever. I want to make sure she's happy and make all her dreams come true. I hate that she had to live with that monster she calls a father. Luckily she found her mother's will and is going to put him out and change the locks. I can't stant the thought of him having access to the house while she's asleep."
"PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP ME."
It only took a second for me to realize that it was Simone screaming. I raced upstairs to her room, with my dad on my heels, and saw her tossing and turning.
"Simone, sweetheart wake up. It's just a dream." I said shaking her.
Her eyes hot open and more tears ran down her face. I took her into my arms and rocked her gently until her breathing returned to normal. I pulled back and looked into her eyes.
