"Dad?" I whispered as I walked through the door to his room.
"What do you want?" He snarled.
" I came to see you. You may not be the best father , but that doesn't mean I want something to happen to you." I said walking over to his bed.
Ace had decided to stay in the waiting room to give me privacy.
"I want nothing to do with you. You're the reason your mother is gone, you stupid girl." He yelled.
'That's not true. Mom died in a car accident. How is that my fault?" I asked as tears rolled down my face.
"She died giving birth to you. That was a lie I told you to get you to leave me alone." He laughed.
"You're lying. I remember she used to always sing me to sleep at night and tickle my feet to wake me up in the morning." I shouted.
"That was the girlfriend I was with at the time. She raised you until she died in a car accident going to pick you up from school." He said with a smirk.
"So everything in my life has been a lie? Next you'll tell me that I have siblings to huh?" I screamed at him.
Just then a doctor and Ace came in looking concerned. The doctor looked familiar, like I know him. Then I remembered the picture in dad's office. When I asked him about it last week, he told me it was his younger brother.
"Is there a problem here?" The doctor asked as he stared at dad and I in shock.
"I told her the truth about what happened about her mother and she doesn't believe me. Did I mention that you have an older brother who's in the medical field? He's a doctor." My father said laughing evilly.
"No you didn't. Is there anything else you forgot to mention?" I said calmly.
"Yes. He's standing right behind you." He said smirking.
I looked at the doctor as he turned to me in shock.
"That's impossible. You told me my sister died in the hospital with mom." The doctor said glaring at father.
"That was a lie also. After you left for school, your mother wanted another baby around the house. When she had your sister, she died. Simone had caused her to loose too much blood and they didn't have enough time to do a transfusion. I didn't want you to have to raise the two of you so I lied. I didn't even want the two of you in the first place." Dad explained to us.
"You sick bastard." Ace said quietly, but loud enough for us to hear. "How could lie your kids like it was nothing? If you didn't want them then why in the world did you have them? Keeping siblings apart is one of the lowest things you can do. And lying to them about their mother? That's just sick and twisted. What was the purpose of lying to them? To keep them apart?" By the time he was finished, his voice was just a bit louder than normal.
"And just who the hell are you?" Dad asked outraged.
"I'm her boyfriend." Ace said smirking.
"I told you that you weren't allowed to have a boyfriend." My dad shouted.
"And I told you that you couldn't stop me from having one. I refuse to ignore my feelings for someone because you want to control my life and make me miserable." I yelled back.
"This is what I get for giving into my wife. An idiot son who wants to play doctor and a teenage daughter who doesn't do as she's told." Dad grumbled.
"That's it. I'm reassigning you a new doctor. I refuse to be in the same room as you and have to put up with your mess. Simone, Ace, when I finish my shift, which is in fifteen minutes, we can go somewhere and talk." My brother said.
"Okay." I said as he kissed my cheek and left.
"When you get home, expect your things to be outside and I'm changing the locks. I found mom's will this morning and every penny you spent, you will pay it back." I said pulling Ace out the room.
"Are you okay?" Ace asked.
"Yeah. It's just...." I trailed off.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Everything I know is a lie. The woman who raised me wasn't really my mother, just my dads girlfriend. I find out I have an older brother who works at the hospital I've been coming to since birth and that he's been lied to as well. If he didn't want us he could have just put us in the foster system. What hurts the most is that he let me believe that some lady he was dating was my mother. What did we do to deserve such cruelness? He used to beat me if something wasn't done the way he wanted it. If I made anything less than an A in school, he'd ground me and lock me in my room. What father in their right mind would do such a thing?" I ranted as more tears fell.
"You didn't do anything. Your dad just wanted you to suffer like he did when your mom died. He wanted you to be miserable. He did everything in his power to make your life just as miserable as he was. That doesn't excuse his actions though. If you want, I could go get my lawyer and you could press charges." Ace explained.
"You'd do that?" I asked softly.
"I'd do anything for you." He said kissing me softly.
I pulled back and buried my head into his chest. My breathing matched his as he ran his hands through my hair making me sigh and close my eyes.
"Is she sleeping?" I heard someone ask.
I opened my eyes and saw Travis staring at me with awe.
"No. Just resting." I said stretching.
I felt Ace tense as I wiggled in his lap. His hands wrapped around sides and held me still. Then I felt his hot, sweet breath on my ear.
"If you know what's good you, you'll stop moving." He said gritting his teeth.
"Oops. Sorry about that." I said shyly.
Travis looked like he was about to burst from holding in his laughing.
"You two are hilarious. Just be careful when you sit in his lap. " He said chuckling slightly.
I felt a blush creep up my face as I covered my face.
"Ha ha." I said sticking my tongue out at him.
He ruffled my hair and kissed my cheek.
"Let's go eat."
