I observe him. Brownish greyish eyes and brown hair glasses. He looks like he's taller than me so he might be in eighth grade.

"Are you new here? I never seen you before," he says.

"Yeahhh I'm new here. I'm in Room 33."

"Cool, so am I."

We just look at each other. OMG! I literally forgot! I need to go to the office.

"Well... see ya later.....ummm.........uhhhhh?"

"Errr my name's sarah," I say

"Nice name Sarah." And he walks away.

Is it just me or did I just made a new friend? Well I don't know if he's my friend..... I mean we just met, but at least I finally talked to someone who's in my class. I go to the office and realize that I'm late! I run to my classroom and when I enter, everyone's staring at me. It feels so nerve wracking.

"You must be Sarah. I'm Ms.Anderson. Welcome, take a seat," says my new teacher.

I go to a random desk, and hang my backpack on my chair. I see Eric. There's a blond boy and two girls at his group. One of them twirls her hair and stares at Eric with the lovey-dovey eyes. Then I look at my group. There's three other girls in my group. One of them smiles and waves at me. I smile and wave back.

"Hi, I'm Mia!" She says.

Cool, I thought. When Ms.Anderson's done with the lesson, she writes a word problem on the board and says to work in GROUPS. OH NOOOOOO!

See the problem is that in my old school people thought I was 'smart' and made me do all the work. Lots of people know I get straight As before, and I don't want to do the same mistake. I'm just gonna act stupid. It won't be hard, right?

"Ok guys, let's read the question and find this thing out," Mia says.

I scan the word problem. It's obviously 34. I glance at my group members they're still thinking. Few minutes later they finally figured it out.

I bite my lip. They start writing their answer on the chart paper. I don't know what to do. I just watch them work by themselves.

"Wow, are you really that shy?" They all ask.
