"He was really mad." He started.

We went to my favorite part of the school which is the rooftop. We were just sitting on a bench for how many minutes after what happened a while ago.

My attention drew to him when he said that. Of course he's mad, the typical type of Karl. He's very possessive and invidious. But everything's changed. He has no right to be jelous or whatever he is feeling, because there is no "us" anymore.

I didn't say a word. I'm still figuring out what just happened.

"He still likes you and want you back. I know he'll do everything just to have you back." He looked at me and waited for my answer.

Still, nothing is coming out of my mouth. But, I'm listening to him.

"Every time he sees us talking or just staring at each other, he threatens me. He keeps on telling me to stay away from you. He sees me as his competition." That was the last thing he said.

It's been a week since that basketball incident. I'm here at our school's covered court carrying a large gym bag, a bottled water, a towel that hangs on my shoulder and an ankle spray.

It's a fucking Saturday! I should still be in bed right now or reading a book in our house. But Ethan says that I owe him a lot. So now, to pay back one of my debts, I'm here acting as his "P.A" aka personal assistant.

He's having a tryout for the new members of the varsity team in our school. They needed new athletes for the upcoming friendly meet and it is one of the biggest event in our school every year. Luckily, Karl is not here today. I heared that he is busy organizing and preparing the papers of the team because he's been voted as the team captain after the last captain graduated.

Prrrt! I heard Coach Tan's whistle. That's the signal that the tryouts are officially done. I took a deep breath in relief. Finally, after almost five hours of waiting and watching that jerk play, he got in.

"Congratulations." I greeted him while yawning. Damn I feel sleepy.

He gave me a wide smile and took the towel on my shoulder. I watched him while he wipes his sweat. Damn. Looks awful because of the sweat but cute too.

"Admiring your boss?" He smirked. I never thought I've been watching him for too long.

"Jerk." I said as I toss him his bag. "Go change so I can go back home and get my gears."

He laughed at me while he jogs towards the locker room. I looked at the time. Great. I still have two and a half hours before our training.

I looked around for a while when someone grabbed my hand as I turned to him. Our eyes met. He looks like a lost puppy waiting and searching for his master. I felt bad for him knowing that he still care. I remembered what Ethan said that he wants me back.

"Hey." He half smiled.

I froze and I don't know what to say.

"Uhm hey." I just smile. This is really awkward.

"I..I have.." He is going to say something when his eyes shifted behind me. I turned around.

Now I know why his expression changed. He is staring at him. I can see that he's confused why he and I are here.

"Ka..Uhm Mia. I should get going first." Ethan said. He's already standing in front of me.

"You better be." Karl answered for me. Here we go again. I don't want this day to be ruined. "I'll take care of her."

I saw Ethan laughed as he waved me good bye. I know what he is thinking.

"He's still around you. Please Mia stay away from him. You don't know him that much." He started.

I looked away and tried to change the subject. "I have a training at 3. I need to go home to get my gears."

"I can drive you home." He smiles. I missed his smile. I wish.. Shut up Mia you should be mad at him. Stop it.

I nodded. The whole silence of this ride makes it more awkward. I know that we both haven't moved on yet and I know that he is really trying his best to make it up to me. But why only now?

"Mia. Please give me a chance." He looked me in the eyes and I saw the sincerity in it.

My heart skipped a beat.
