(Zen pov)
What was that dream about?
Who was that couple?
Where they my real parents? I didn't recognize them...

(Normal pov)

Zen made his way to his local park where he followed a dirt trail. The plants around him rested as he strolled quietly past them.

The wind was cold and breezed through the waving trees above him. He continued down the path as he began to feel more relaxed.

His ear twitched slightly as he heard movement in a nearby bush. He remained at his normal walking speed as he listened carefully. Suddenly a twig behind him snapped. The sound was overly loud and Zen spun quickly round.

He looked quickly down to see it was just a crow. He gave a little smile as he sighed and continued walking.

"Dam bird!" He said as he stepped over a fallen branch that covered the path.

Suddenly two men stepped out in front of the path. Zen came to a stop and turned in the opposite direction. But found another two men where behind him.

They all surrounded him. Some had guns on their backs and others had knives. Zen noticed their uniforms to be slavers.

One grabbed the back of Zen's hood and pulled it quickly off of his face.

"Hey!" Zen said as he struggled to get away.

"This one will do nicely, teen male, small structure, should fetch a small price" one of the men said in a harsh voice.

"What hey I'm not for sale! I'm middle class citizen!" Zen shouted as he continued to struggle.

One of the men punched Zen hard in the stomach and another of them threw him to the muddy ground and kicked him.

"He has a big voice doesn't he!" Said one of the slavers.

"Listen kid no one cares what class you are, we can beat you senseless and make anyone a mindless slave!" His voice was dark and threatening as he leant down to Zen.

From behind the man Zen noticed a dark figure standing in a high tree above them.

Suddenly, the figure dropped down in a mist of black and began to quickly attack the slavers. The black figure passed from slaver to slaver. In a black mist that consumed each body and leaving each man laying dead on the ground.

Zen watched in amazement as he kept his distance by remaining on the ground. The last of the slavers pulled out his gun as he stepped back. He shot multiple bullets into the darkness of that man, all of them absorbed in the shadowy mist.

The figure then dashed forward at the slaver and pounced up at the man's face and quickly broke his neck.

Zen watched in fear as the shadowy figure slowly stood up and turned to face Zen. His eyes where blood red and shone through the dark misty figure.

The dark mist slowly faded off of the figure, revealing a young male wearing a black hoodie and black ripped jeans. His face was pale and he had crimson red eyes. His hair was black and spiky, which covered most of his eyes.

He stood there facing Zen quietly as a small amount of the black mist floated faintly around his body.

"I'm sorry..If I startled you" his voice was dark but soft as he faced his head away.

"You saved me, why?" Zen asked as he remained on the dirty ground.

"I.. I saw the slavers attacking you ..and I wanted to.. help" his voice was shy but stern.

The male offered his hand to zen, and helped him to stand back up.

"What was that mist? Was it dark magic? Are you a demon?" Zen's voice was curious.

"I'm not a demon but... yes it's dark magic I was born with it, I escaped the slavers a while ago and I happened to find them attacking you" he said looking back at Zen's blue eyes.

"Well thank you for your help, I won't say a word. I wouldn't want any guard to find you" Zen said politely as he ran his hand through his grey hair and brushed down his muddy trousers.

"Wait .. I haven't been honest with you, I.. was following you earlier when you were in town, that demon ran into you and gave you that gem" the mysterious boy continued.

"Wait you where there? Why where you following me?" Zen asked in confusion as he approached the dark male.

"It belonged to my previous master, it is an extremely rare and magical item that my master wishes me to get back...But I have been having second thoughts on going back to him, he's.. not very nice to me you see" the boy said with a shy tone.

"You're a slave? What's your name?" Zen asked feeling surprised that a slave had so much power.

"My master named me Seth, his estate is in the middle of High-town so I have been safe from his reach out here as he never leaves his mansion" Seth explained.

Then Seth lifted up his sleeve to reveal his slave symbol that was branded onto his wrist. These were given to all slaves and where branded with a form of magic that curses them for slavery. It is extremely powerful and hard to break.

"But why where you following me?" Zen asked for the second time.

"The gem chose you to take its power, so your going to gain some soon, that means you will either become a Angel or a Demon, depending... who finds you first" Seth explained feeling a little more relaxed.

"How do you know so much about the Demons and Angels?" Zen asked curiously.

"Well my master had a lot of business with Angels as he works for G.O.D, I've met some of the Demons he has captured before and I tend to find out more than I intended" Seth said as him and Zen stood in the middle of the path.

"There will be men looking for you once they sense your powers, you may need my help" Seth said.

Zen wondered what to do about this runaway slave with awesome powers. He wanted to find out more about the Angels and Demons and if Seth knew a lot then maybe he should stay with him. If he needed help like Seth said then he'd have to take him in.

"Hey Seth you can stay with me, I can't just leave you all alone out here. After all, you did save my life", Zen offered with a polite and friendly tone.

Seth looked up at Zen with confused eyes as he never got offered hospitality before.

"Sure.. if it's ok with you?"

"I don't think my mother will agree to it so you may need to sneak in to my place, come with me" Zen said as he turned and headed back home. Seth followed quickly behind him.
