It was early the next morning and Zen had let Seth sleep secretly in his room. The sun shone through his curtains as both boys lay fast asleep.
Zen was wrapped up in his bed, where as Seth slept quietly across the floor. Zen had originally offered Seth his bed but Seth's submissive slave nature made him reject the offer and sleep on the hard floor instead.
Zen woke up slowly to see Seth's peaceful face as he was curled up on the floor. Zen quickly got changed and woke up Seth who had slept in his full clothes.
"Hey Seth wake up" Zen whispered In a quiet tone. Seth got to his feet and sat quietly on the windowsill.
"Thanks... for letting me stay Zen" Seth said with a sleepy tone as he pulled down his hood to reveal his handsome male face.
His eyes where outlined with black and his skin was pale. His eyes where shiny and red, they no longer seemed scary and demon like but where now calm and beautiful.
Zen smiled over at Seth as he had noticed Seth's good looks that he had been mysteriously covering. Zen sat casually on his bed as he looked over at his newly made friend.
"So my mother will be up in a moment, you can stay here for as long as you want just... don't let her see you, ok?" Zen said with a slightly worried tone.
Seth smiled slightly and showed Zen that he understood by fading into a black mist and disappearing.
"Well I see you won't have a problem with that" Zen said with a smile as he felt something tap his shoulder. He turned to see Seth appear from a mist of black.
"See no problem" Seth said with a little smirk as Zen turned to him.
But before he could make a quick joke he heard his mother calling.
"Hey sweetheart I'm going to make breakfast come down when your ready" her distant voice was sleepy and calm.
"Ok mum!" Zen yelled to make sure she heard him.
"We shouldn't have much problems as its just my step mum we have to worry about" Zen said with a smile as he opened the bedroom door.
"I'll get you something don'tt worry" he said to Seth before closing the door carefully behind him.
Zen made his way down stairs before grabbing a hand full of toast and a glass of milk. Just as he began to head back upstairs his mother stopped him.
"Good morning Zen, eating upstairs today I see? Just don't make a mess sweety" Zen's mother said in a happy tone as she prepared her breakfast.
"Yeah good morning mother" he said quickly and with a smile before he made his way back to his room and to Seth.
Entering his bedroom he found Seth looking carefully at a couple of Zen's family photos. He stared down at them with his red eyes. This picture was of Zen and his step mother. Zen was around eight years old and smiling happily.
Zen sat down and handed Seth some toast and the milk. Seth thanked Zen and began to eat them. He placed the photo carefully back into Zen's side cabinet.
"Did you never know your parents?" Seth asked politely.
"No my step mum said they died when I was two years old, so I wouldn't remember them" Zen explained as he finished a slice of toast.
"I'm sorry" Seth said. "I.. I never new my parents, I assumed they where murdered by the slavers, as I grew up being a slave, being sold from master to master. Until my latest that I decided to run from" Seth continued with a slight sad tone.
"How did you escape your master if you don't mind me asking?" Zen asked hoping he wouldn't offend him.
"My master is the magistrate Allure Riverty, he is a rich man who owns many of the slave trades and human marketing systems, he is well known and owns many slaves. I was sadly his favourite and he liked to say I was the 'jewel of his collection' and would keep me under strict chains and rules" Seth explained as he took a moment to breathe
"Anyway he lost a prized jewel that he housed in his collection called a Neverstar. He simply wanted it back so I offered to reclaim it for him..."
"This gem holds immense power of a God, this is why the Angels where chasing that Demon, if he found a way to control it then he could have had the power of a god"
"My master accepted my proposition and allowed me to search for it, since then I haven't returned and I've found the Neverstar but it seems to have found a host body. You" Seth finished.
Zen thought about what Seth had said.
(Zen pov)
If I absorbed that Neverstar then I will get powers? If so, that would mean that now the Angels and Demons will be after me.
(Normal pov)"You're eventually going to have to choose between joining the Angels or the Demons" Seth said as he finished his milk and placed it on the wooden table next to him.
Zen thought about it before speaking. "I don't know who I would go with.. the Angels are confusing and I don't trust them, but the Demons are bloodthirsty murderers that kill innocent!" Zen said as he tried to decide.
Seth glanced over to Zen and raised one of his sharp eyebrows. "You know you shouldn't believe everything people tell you about Demons, they aren't actually as bad as they say"
"Demons are a band of rebels that disobeyed God's rule, then they fled outside the wall. They believe that God is up to something bad and they question all the rules, you see... they are not that different from me and you" Seth explained in a clam tone as he tried to express his opinion.
"I'm gonna stick around with you as I'd like to join the Demons one day and get out of this damn city!" Seth said with a slight stern tone as his red eyes looked across to Zen's blue ones.
Zen smiled happily at Seth and stood up quickly. He placed the leftovers in his bin before he spoke.
"Well then I better start getting used to you then" he said with a happy smile. Seth got to his feet and gave Zen a small dig in the arm.
"Ok then we've got to get on with channelling those powers of yours!" Seth said with a smirk as he headed for the bedroom door.
"Come on!" He said with a smile as he slowly opened the door and turned into a invisible mist. Zen smiled and rushed to join Seth whatever he is planning.
