------------------------------------------------CHAPTER 4----------------------------------------------------------------------

Wills looked down at his feet avoiding my gaze. I was not mistaken, it was William- it had to be, he had the identical colour eyes to me, not to mention he was wearing the black and red shirt I had given him last Christmas.

"William, what the fuck are you doing here?' I demanded in a tone that made him bite his lip, and shove his previously folded hands into the pockets of his dark jeans.

Wonderful. My plan to not involve any of my loved ones in my mess had backfired royally. Here was my wonderful older brother standing with two of the most intimidating looking men I have ever seen in my life. I wasn't that I was particularly scared of them at that moment; in fact the man standing in the middle was beaming at me like I was his long lost best friend, but I felt as though they could be monstrously terrifying if they so chose.

"Answer me you douche!" I said in the same angry tone.

'Well I certainly don't have to ask if you two are siblings now" the man in the centre began speaking "it is obvious that you are'

'William?!' I pleaded. I saw him take a large breath as he raised his eyes to me- and then I heard the familiar peal of his voice, pleading back.

'For once in your life Phoebe, shut the fuck up and listen'. He glanced nervously to the man who had been in the centre of the group but was now standing less than two feet from me.

'Well my dear, it is a pleasure to meet you. I should introduce myself- I am King Ares' He said smiling, but his smile did not quite reach his eyes. His eyes a dark shade of brown- so dark in fact they nearly matched the colours of his pupils, we're wide in anticipation and something behind that, fear?

'I'm Phoebe G...' I began speaking in a barely a whisper before he cut me off again.

'I know who you are Miss Lorre' He chuckled and muttered to himself 'Lorre, quite ingenious' before beginning again at a more audible volume 'for you and your brother here have been expected. Indeed we have been waiting a long time for you'

I shot my brother a quizzical gaze which he avoided.

'But of course' the man continued 'I am getting ahead of myself; I should begin at the beginning. Won't you follow us to my study where we can sit and talk?' he asked. It was not a question that needed an answer, nor was the King expecting one. He turned and, quick as a flash, pressed a panel on the wall which opened a doorway which led into a dimly lit room and he disappeared inside. His guard and William, without a glance at me stepped after him.

I looked up at Arthur who had all this time been stood a few steps behind me, he stepped to my side.

'Don't worry Phoebe, It'll be fine' He smiled crookedly down at me, flashing a perfect row of pearly whites and a dimple which formed just on the top his right cheek. He grabbed my hand, and interlocked our fingers. This surprised me, not because of the felling of warmth that was now spreading up my arm and down my right side, but simply at the quite public display of friendliness. After our almost violent meeting I had grown a distain for him, but Arthur was at least trying to be supportive- which was more than my big brother had been. I dragged my feet into the dark room, sure that whatever I was about to be told was something I did not particularly want to hear.
