Anthony found a way to get me into game, probably by pulling a few strings. He knew of my feelings for Kris and just how strong they were, so he helped me out and got me a ticket. I went through will call, passing the massive line that wrapped around the stadium, and headed down to the dugout where Anthony was waiting for me.
"Hey." I greeted with a smile.
"You look nice." Anthony replied. I had on my home Bryant jersey and a pair of leggings with my white converse to go along with my outfit.
"Thank you!"
"I have to go, but I'll see you after the game." Anthony said, scurrying away.
"Wait!" I called, causing him to stop and look back at me. "Is everything set up?" I asked.
"Yeah. Kris is getting ready to head up to the field so be quick about it!" I nodded my head as Anthony disappeared down a hallway. It was go time.
I hid around a corner from the main hallway. I fixed my long wavy hair and adjusted my jersey. As soon as I herd his footsteps I pulled out my phone and headed around the corner. I walked straight into Kris and threw my body on the ground, cracking my phone screen in the process. I trailed my eyes upward until they met his. I grabbed his outstretched hand and he easily pulled me up as I continued to stare at him.
I mumbled a thank you and slipped a piece of paper with my name and number into his pocket before walking away. I heard his feet shuffle and his large hand landed on my shoulder. "What are you doing down here?" Kris asked, eyes squinted like he was suspicious of me.
"Uh..." I turned and bolted down the hallway. Once up on the concourse, I caught my breath. I noticed a popcorn vendor out of the corner of my eye and bought a bag bag before heading to my seat.
I sat down and went over everything that happened. I actually did it, I got the paper in his pocket. All that was left to do was wait and see if Kris would call me.
As I was eating my popcorn I felt a piece of unchewed Double Bubble bounce off my forehead. "Ow! Riz, that hurt!" I whined, knowing exactly who threw it from over the top of the dugout. I rubbed the small red spot as Anthony waved me over, trying not to gain the crowd's attention. I got up and walked to the wall, where Anthony made it look like he was signing something.
"Kris seems pretty love struck since he's bumped into you." Anthony whispered with a smirk plastered on his face, causing my cheeks to instantly flush. "He found your number and is wanting to get to know-" Anthony was cut off by Kris coming over to get him.
"I gotta go!" We both whisper yelled. I went my way and he went his. I sat down in my seat and smiled to myself. Maybe I finally had gotten Kris' attention.
