I'm going to try to have more talking parts so I get used to it. It's not one of my strengths in writing.

"Are you ok honey?" My mom asked closing the door to my apartment.

I sighed and plopped on the couch, giving her her answer. "I lied." She looked puzzled.

My dad went in the other room to watch baseball, not wanting to be involved. She sat down and rubbed my back.

"Who did you like to?" She was being careful. She knew I hated repeating myself twice when it came to feelings.

Tears started to form in my eyes and I looked into her eyes. They were brown, a really dark brown.

"I lied to him. I lied to Kris, I don't know why I did but I just did." I sucked in a lot of air, making me learn back on the couch.

"I know you," she hesitated, "why did you lie to Kris?"

"Remember how we weren't able to make it down to the dugout?" She nodded. "Well I called him and told him you got sick and that we couldn't see him."

It's all so weird. To be honest I have no idea why I lied, but it felt better than making it sound like I didn't want to see him at all.

"I don't know why I lied, I guess I thought we could keep a good relationship if he thought I was telling the truth. Now we might not have as good of a relationship, and it's just," I breathed in heady a few times, " I just don't know."

I broke down in my mom's arm staying like that until my dad came in.

"Do you have any Pepsi?" We leaned out the door and asked. I wiped my tears from my face.

"I made sure to stock up the fridge just for you dad."

"Thank you so much sweetie." He kissed me on the forehead, and he went to the fridge.

My mom got up and fixed her shirt. "I trust you'll tell him about it. It will make your relationship stronger." She walked to grab a Pepsi too, then walked into the bedroom with my dad.

I stretched out along the couch, and thought for a long time actually.

I don't want to tell him I lied. But he needs to know the truth. It will ruin our relationship if he found out I lied. Or it could strengthen it. I'm tired. I think I'm just gonna go to-" My phone rang mid thought.

I picked it up and checked Caller ID, and reluctantly hit the green button.

"Hello?" He was rushed by something.

"Are you ok, do you need me?" I said already putting my shoes on to walk out the door.

"Yes, actually." I heard him shut his door. Something was really wrong.

"I'm on my way." I yelled goodbye to my parents and shut the door fast.

"I'm already on my way, be ready i'll explain everything then, I promise."

Promise.

"Ok, see you in a few." I hung up, jogging to the lobby waiting for his car to pull up out front.

I gave it about 7 minutes before he showed up. I ran out to his car, sitting on the passenger side.

"What is going on?" He started the car and immediately pulled out.

"My sister Alli, she's in the hospital. She got in a car accident." I started crying more than I was before.

I had never met her, but it meant too much to him not to. The hospital was not very far away, maybe six blocks. We parked his car in the ER parking lot and ran in the doors?

"I'm looking for Alli Bryant. She's my sister." The receptionist pointed down the hall and told him "Room 63," then went back to her work.

We rushed down the hall, and knocked on the door. Kris is having a panic attack. He couldn't breathe. Alli was his only sibling , so she meant a lot to him in the long run. I had died down to just whimpers by the time we entered the room.

She looked really bad. She had a direct hit to the drivers side of her car. It smashed her. She had cuts and bruises everywhere.

"Mom, dad." He said giving them a sympathetic hug. "So what are her injuries. He sniffles. "She has a crushed spine, they need to do surgery to replace it. She won't survive without a new one." My dad said, hugging Kris afterward. He walked up to her side and held her sleeping hand.

"I love you Alli." He said, kneeling down to cry.
