Salome growled in her bed as she tossed the covers off of her. Noam sat at his usual place at the window that over looked the desolate land where she hid,
"What troubles you, my lady?" Noam asked as he rose to his feet as she approached him. He could feel her anger as her onyx eyes met his. He remembered a time before she turned evil that her eyes were a bright brown color, but the darkness of her eyes only reflected the evil she allowed in her heart. In her mind, she will always love the fairy king, even if she hated him for what he did to her.
"I want her dead!" Salome shouted as she slammed her hand on the table that Noam stood by. "Have they been able to find her?"
Noam shook his head as he looked back out the window. The sun was setting and the imps he had sent in search for Oriana came back only to report that they were unable to find her which meant she was being protected by a strong power.
Salome screamed and Noam shivered at the shrill sound of it. He worried for her safety. Fairies weren't meant to feel the evil she felt and he knew it was driving her crazy and would only lead her to her death, but he couldn't bring himself to confront her about it. She would only see it as a betrayal and he loved her too much to deny her anything, even if it meant killing the young woman who would destroy the woman he desperately loved.
"We need better trackers than those stupid imps." Salome told him darkly as she got control of her anger. "They are getting lazy and useless."
"I will talk to Chalan. She will track her down." Noam spoke of his friend who was a nymph who joined forces with him and his lady and was the best tracker. If anyone could find the young woman who threatened his lady's life, it would be her.
Salome finally settled down and sat down on her bed. She seemed more relieved with his answer. She knew of the nymph's ability, but she also knew that Chalan was deeply in love with her vampire. Noam wasn't evil naturally, but Salome knew he was in love with her and she used that knowledge to get what she wanted. Her heart was too full of anger and evil to feel anything akin to love. When that human stole Kheelan from her and then proceeded to bear his child, she was so full of jealousy that she nearly exploded. It was Noam who found her on the meadow just outside of the Dark Forest when she let her anger control her, turning her bright brown eyes to onyx and her chocolate hair black.
When she finally released her anger and power, a Night Walker imprinted on her and she felt that this was the time she could get her revenge. But the dragon wasn't easily swayed. Dragons weren't evil by nature and it took all the tears and sympathy she could get to finally get the dragon to fight with her and attack the Vampires on Clarvis Mountain. She had hoped that when she mercilessly murdered the late Queen Aleena that she would have killed the cocky prince. But his aunt had to interfere and took the vampire's even further into the caves where they took sanctuary from the world. Their knowledge of the dragons and unicorns went with them and Salome's dragon didn't even know where the dragons and unicorns moved to when she betrayed them.
"I'm going to see Bryne." Salome told her vampire curtly and threw on her black robe as she left the room.
Noam nodded quietly and watched as the Night Walker, Bryne, emerge from the trees. Bryne was a black dragon that had a serpent like body. Her wing were long and graceful and her talons deadly. But it was her blood red eyes that Noam feared the most. They reflected the evil in their rider and with the evil that was building inside of Salome, it was building even stronger in the Night Walker.
