Vera and Oriana decided to share the same room while the boys bunked in Tristan's since he doesn't sleep, although Oriana thought he was starting to look like he needed to get some sleep, but when she had approached him about it, he told her not to worry about it.

Unable to sleep, Vera rolled over in the bed and faced Oriana, who was laying on her back, looking up at the ceiling, obviously thinking. About what, Vera didn't know, but she wanted to find out.

But her reason for not able to sleep was due to how much Lucas was on her mind and she couldn't push him out. Maybe it because of all the time they spent all the time together when Oriana left them behind. But Vera felt for sure that it was more than that. Well, she hoped it was more than that. But last time when she had hoped like that, it broke her heart.

She still remembered when she first saw him and how her heart flipped every time he entered the room or spoke to her. Her nerves were on fire when they sparred with their daggers and although she bragged that she was better, she knew she was not all that better. They were even from their abilities in knife throwing to their wit.

"Can't sleep either?" Oriana asked as she rolled to her side and faced her friend, smiling at her. As if she knew something that Vera didn't know. Which might be true since Vera could see the silver green eyes gleaming.

"What?" Vera asked a raised eyebrow, but was met with a giggle from her best friend who just winked at her.

"You and Lucas." Oriana answered and watched her friend blush and then covered her head with the blanket. "You didn't think I didn't see what happened with all of that? Drakon may had been talking to you through me, but I saw it all. Even Tristan saw it."

Vera scowled at her friend, bring her back to something she had noticed earlier with the vampire. "And when were you going to tell me about you and the prince?" she retorted.

Oriana stared at Vera for a moment and realized that she had forgotten that Tristan was a prince. She remembered Ari had called Tristan 'His Highness' but with everything that had been going on, she had dismissed it, wanting to keep him alive through the imprint. She was desperate to keep him alive. She knew her journey was going to be long and hard and she needed him to help her.

"How long has it been going on?" Vera asked, waiting for an explanation.

Oriana moved to sit up in the bed and leaned against the head board and Vera moved so she laid across Oriana's legs, facing her, waiting for the story that she knew was coming.

"I didn't know if I could." Oriana began and looked towards the doorway, not looking at Vera at all. "At first, I didn't like him. He didn't like me either. He was filled with anger and bitterness when he found out that I was a dragon rider that I thought the worst of him. He was arrogant, self-centered, and rude."

Just then Oriana felt Tristan and she knew he was hiding from the doorway and was listening to what she was saying, hoping she wouldn't notice he was near. She smirked slightly. Ever since he imprinted, she had been able to feel him more strongly than before.

"But when he felt I was going out of control back at Andulin when the powers in me were so new and fresh, he was the one who helped me get the power to settle down. He didn't know why he was doing it, but he wouldn't leave me alone." Oriana then laughed. "He actually got very worried when I had blocked him from my mind to explain to Kheelan what was going on. What we didn't understand was why we were able to communicate with each other.

"But soon it didn't matter anymore. We calmed each other down and were strength to one another. When Drakon blocked our connection, it was torture and Tristan had to break through as hard as he could to be able to connect with me. We both knew that there was a reason we needed each other and we were angry at our dragons for doing this to us."
