Everyone had forgotten the incidence earlier and the banquet was in full swing. All was going smoothly for myself and the other girls until the horseman decided to show off his 'assets' to his guests.
I gulped as each one scrutinized us while the other guests engaged in conversation.First it was Jack Pyke. His eyes bored into your soul and he had a staring contest with anyone who dared look him in the eye. I held my breath as he came to me. Then he moved on to Rachael, who was almost having a heart attack beside me.
"You've got some real beauties her horseman". He said giving her a once over. The other Vampire did the same. Their eyes lingered on our necks for some reason, I wasn't willing to expose my mind to the gory details of whatever reason that might be.
The Luna however, regarded us with disgust. Then it was Prince George.
Amber eyes glared at anyone who dared to look him in the eye. I dared to look him in the eye. He glared but I didn't falter, the image of what happened to the vampire who opposed him was still fresh in my memory and I knew I had a death wish to do this but I kept it up.He nodded mildly. And moved on. That short encounter had my heart racing for a while. The way his eyes burned and bored mine. It seemed almost surreal. Before long, the banquet was brought to a close and guests retired to chambers in the castle.
The girls and I were escorted back to our cells by Brawny and another relatively dumb guard. There was little exchange between us, we were still shocked. I'd never known Vampires and Werewolves existed until now.
Our food was brought by a pair of grumpy women, unlike the grumpy guards who usually bring it. Small as the portions were, it was tasty. Food for the guests I suppose. After eating, I decided to rest. Three days to whatever the horseman had planned. I was scared, but I didn't want that day to come and I would be tired.
Day One:
The following day, I was awoken by the trolls. I glared angrily at them through the cage. Oh, the things I wish I could do to them.
I groaned as I stared out the opening on the wall. I was itching to see the sunlight, to feel the heat on my skin. In this realm, it was always dark. Alexa said something about the constant darkness having something to do with the fact that dark powers thrive in the dark. Two guards came in bringing me back from my castle in the air, but they weren't with food as expected. Tweve pairs of eyes watched as they approached my cell.
Oh god.
This was it. I was going to die. I obliged hopelessly as they opened the cell and attached shackles to my wrists. I glanced around at the other girls and with one glance at Tony, I left the room.
The two guards were quiet and I decided to keep quiet so I wouldn't anger them. Brick wall after brick wall, they ushered me into a room.
My heart slowed it's pace as we entered. I wasn't getting killed. Not today.
The room was cozy. A fireplace graced the room with warmth. With a bed at one end of the room, window and a plush carpet, this room was fit for a king. Of course, it was already occupied by royalty. Prince George was seated in a chair facing the fire with a book in his hand.
He looked up just as the guards were leaving.I was tempted to go after the guards at the look he gave me, but I stood waiting for him to speak.
"You're probably wondering why you're here". The Prince spoke as he closed the book and approached me.
After glaring at me for a while, he walked to the window.
"What's your name?". He asked."Rebecca". My voice came out stronger than I expected. With a sigh he turned to face me, gracing me with his beautiful face.
"You seem familiar". Prince George crossed the distance and was in my face in seconds.
"Those green eyes and red hair". He placed a hand on my jaw forcing my head back as he scrutinized my features. As disturbing as this was getting, I kept silent and nodded when required to respond.
"Have we met before?". He asked me suddenly.
My brows furrowed as I stared at him.
"No""That's a shame because I would've sworn I recognized you from somewhere". Prince George said, as his eyes glazed over in thought.
"I could be of help if you said who I reminded you of, your grace". I said softly.
"A witch". The Prince said. "You remind me of a really powerful witch. Red hair, green eyes. Her lineage was forgotten but you seem to match the description to some degree"
This was getting interesting.
"A witch?"He didn't respond, but he walked towards the fireplace and stared intently at the flames.
"Have you ever noticed strange things happening around you? Something far from the ordinary""No Sir". I said.
"Hmm". He tapped his chin. "I sense magic on you, you just haven't tapped into it yet".
I watched him from under my lashes. I felt sorry for the prince, the sorry fellow was unhinged.
"Come here". Prince George called to me and I walked cautiously to stand beside him. "Give me your hand and close your eyes".
My hands went up on their own accord and he gripped them just as my eyes fluttered close.
But they flew open when I heard him muttering. After getting scolded I close my eyes and focused on the darkness.
It wasn't long before I felt a buzz, dull, but it was there. A flame flickered in the darkness and I felt an urge to reach for it but I held back."Reach for it". I scowled as I heard Prince George's voice in my head. As I did as I was told, I felt a jolt of current sweep through me.
I withdrew my hand and opened my eyes in fear to find the Prince's amber eyes burning.
He attempted to speak, but I ran for the door. Not stopping when he called, only stopping when I was outside the door.
Thankfully, the guards were still outside. I wasn't about to navigate through a castle full of Vampires and Werewolves.● ● ● ● ●
I just had to get this out. Overlook errors.
Over the next few months, I won't be updating as much as before. I'll be having a series of exams to take me to the university, so I have to read, please bear with me.Anyway, #VCF.
