Cracked Glass // slow updates

Chapter Four

It took me four weeks in total to get to Skulls Bay. I stayed an extra week in Ornyth to settle Evangeline then I winnowed to Doranelle to speak to Connall I'd sent a letter ahead previously to tell him where to meet me at the edge of the city
"Thank god your all right I was so worried when you told me to meet you I thought something was wrong" he went to grab me and kiss me I pushed him away gently and looked at his eyes.
"I'm so sorry Connall." I said slipping the ring off my finger " I can't marry you I'm not ready for that commitment and I want to wait to find my mate first. I'm so sorry Connall I really am." He just turn to walk away.
"I'll wait for you I know we're mates I can feel the bond between us." He just walked away as he said this spinning the ring between his fingers. I just winnowed out and down to illium bay to catch a boat from Terrasen to Skulls bay as I didn't know the terrain very well I'd have to get on a 4 day journey then onto a 4 hour rowing boat with some Pirates

Thankfully the 4 day boat ride went smoothly but the 4 hour rowing boat not so much we were about a mile out from the coast when I noticed something odd about the pirates they didn't move right they jolted and jumped as if something was wrong with their bodies and they all had black rings that smelt foully like decomposing bodies and sewage and something dark and evil. I turned to the nearest pirate edging my knife out of the holder strapped to my black work suit
"What are you?" I hissed at them. They all looked at me and grinned in unison with unearthly darkness leaking from their mouths.
"We are the valg. We are Erawans immortal slaves.And we're going to kill you fae brat." They said as I plunged my knife into the one closest sat closest to me throat. On the other one I jammed my knife into his thigh severing the artery before driving my knife into his heart. Lastly the third one had had time to draw his knife and before I could react he sliced into my arm I twisted before it could get too deep, I fell onto the floor of the boat the valg pirate was leering at me I felt something hot dripping down my face as I twisted he'd cut me jammed my knife into his shoulder and again into his throat. Within half an hour I'd decapitated the bodies and sunk the boat to the bottom of the ocean I swum the final mile to shore and at that point I decided to charge Rolfe the pirate lord cleaning for the suit I thought as I swum the mile left to shore.

It took me an hour to swim to the shore. I soon arrived and tracked down Rolfe's office I climb onto the roof to look through the window and see everyone gathered perfect time to make my grand entrance. I stepped back slightly behind a chimney so I was completely out of view and latched my magic out into a invisible hand and swung open the window,  someone cursed probably Rolfe at least I'd got their attention as I swung in from the window I landed just inside the circular window in a classic pose crouched down with my cape fanning out behind me held out by a phantom wind. Rolfe jumped backwards shocked at this new development I looked up slowly, as he began shouting orders to his men.
"Rolfe no need to panic I'm with them." I said with a smile gracing my lips." But I'm glad to see my little trick didn't give you a heart attack in your old age " Aelin let out a barking laugh ,I simply swaggered away down to where I could smell breakfast cooking when I got down there Aedion and Lysandra were there along with Fenrys and Gavriel I just walked and went to sit down when Gavriel looked up and raised an eyebrow
"Really River your practically falling out of that suit why can you where something else like any normal person would when coming to a pirate island" he said with emphasis on the last word. Aedion was staring at me whilst Fenrys at least took pains to hide his glances. Lysandra just shook her head towards Aedion's behaviour.
"1) Gavriel you know this is my missions suit I always wear.2) your leather would be tight too if you had to swim a mile to shore after a valg incident 3) can you at least stop your son from staring at me, like really Aedion at least Fenrys is trying to hide his gaze."
Gavriel just gave us all a long suffering sigh before plowing through the rest of his breakfast soon Aelin and Rowan came down to join us so I joined into the breakfast too Fenrys ,then Aedion ,then Dorian ,then Gavriel all sat one side whilst Rowan ,then Aelin then Lysandra and lastly me facing Fenrys and Aedion sat the other so I decided to have some fun I was eating happily and I went to open mouth to say something whilst Gavriel , Rowan and Aelin were in another conversation when Rowan just turned and looked me dead in the eye then followed by Gavriel shaking his head
"Riviera don't you dare!" Rowan growled.
"I wasn't even going to do anything Rowan I swear" I said indignantly he just shook his head which I took as a sign to continue with my plan to break the ice in the room. I saw the sugar holder sat in between Aedion and Fenrys.
"Boys would one of you mind if I just..." I sat leaning right of the table to the point where my outfit was very revealing Aedion went red he wasn't used to people leaning over so you gaze down their tight wet leather Fenrys however started a mix of coughing and cursing after banging his knee hard against the table Gavriel just shook his head and sighed whilst Aelin and Lysandra fell apart laughing. I just smiled smugly.
"I'm going for a swim."
"But you don't have any swimsuits."
"I know what I said Aedion." I grinned.
"Riviera don't you dare you remember what happened that time in Doranelle where you went swimming in the rivers before someone caught I arrived thankfully and got you out of there" Gavriel said getting frusated.
"That was you I was sent by Maeve to find out who did it."
"Anyway I do have something on under the suit that will do not much but it'll do hope it won't get ruined it's my favourite lace." I shouted back as I walked out the door.

I came back three hours later back in my missions suit yet again. To find everyone gone to the ocean rose so I trudged back over there to speak with them only to find Aelin and Lysandra shopping somewhere and the males in the courtyard so I joined them for training to see what could be done.When I eventually got to the court yard I saw Dorian on his ass completely shirt less as I looked at the others I saw they were all shirtless and their muscles were all shining with sweat.
" I feel overdressed." I stated to no one in particular as I turned around in my three quarter length tan pants and short sleeved tight green tunic with gold beading." Perhaps I'd fit in more if I took my shirt of more." I grinned watching the reactions, Rowan continued training Dorian, Gavriel was helping him however Aedion and Fenrys were watching me.
" I wouldn't object at all." Fenrys growled with typical fae arrogance i just shook my head and walked to begin training.
" Naughty , naughty get your mind off your manhood for once and try to concentrate but don't worry if you can't I know I'm irresistible." I smirked. Fenrys growled and step towards me ready to say something else when Dorian stepped.
" If you've finished with that can we finish training please I still can't handle my magic and its feels like searing irons." Dorian practically shouted across the court yard grimacing in emphasis of his declaration.
" Well what form of magic do you have I'll see what I can do." For every word I took a step.
"Actually I don't really know it's kind of everything" he said rubbing the back of his neck gingerly.
"So raw magic I'm guessing because everybody has something Rowan has wind and ice , Aelin with her fire , Lysandra is a shapeshifter, Fenrys can winnow which is where you jump from one place to another ." I stated as simply as possible for him to understand. " Now hit me I want to see what you've got."
" I can't hit you your a lady I'll hurt you ." Dorian said raising an eyebrow and dusting his pants off where dirt clung after Rowan had just knocked him on his ass.

I simply lifted my eyebrow whilst looking around the bare courtyard Rowan stepped back smirking under my piercing gaze " So because I'm female I'm too weak to fight you? So because I'm female I don't know what to do? So because I'm female I can't knock someone out? So because I'm the most powerful fae female ever to walk the earth I can't put a mortal prince on his ass?" I said snarling at him , I used my magic to lift his worthless carcass off the floor and through him into a wall where I crouched down in front of him" So because I'm female I should washing clothes and warming beds? Is that what your saying Dorian Havilyard ?" He rose slowly sensing my wrath.
" I am a king and I will destroy you bitch." I swung a punch at him as I did my too small shirt ripped across my back, I slung it off into a corner stood in nothing more than a band covering my breasts we began fighting slowly he began to use magic for strikes as well as healing till he grabbed me in his invisible hands realising he had me in his grasp he slid them down I twisted to roundhouse kick him in the mouth where i somersaulted and clamped his head between my thighs in a triangular choke hold. He was gasping so I flipped down and pushed him to the floor where I lent over him hair cascading around me as I watched him regain consciousness for the prick only to make another stupid comment.
"Do you know I quite like the view down here ." I slapped with all my immortal power to rock his head leaving three sharp claw marks down his face. When I stood  I turned to him .
" Next time I hear a comment like that aimed at me I will ripped your manhood off and stuff it down your throat" all the males in the court yard winced at the declaration I stood up and swaggered off Fenrys was still staring at me but now it was something other than just lust it was mixed with wonder and awe I decide to play with that.
" Fenrys you can at least take me to dinner before looking at me like that." I said over my shoulder I smirked
" Okay meet me here tonight for 8 then I'll look at you like that's after like you said." He growled out trying to contain a slight smile I was internally freaking out I've just spilt from Connall now I'm going for dinner with his twin brother. I walked as calmly and relaxed as possible till I found Aelin and Lysandra sat in Aelin's room where I walked in screamed slightly and explain everything by the time we were finished it was 7 nearly time to go when they jumped and staring going through the wardrobe looking for a dress till they picked out one it was stunning it was a black dress with cold shoulders and it went just mid thigh but it had a single sliver thread wrapping around the dress in a spiral motion my hair was done by Lysandra in a few simple curls scattered through out for my face Aelin decided on just simply painting my lips a deep burgundy colour I went downstairs with Aelin and Lysandra to meet the others.
