Cracked Glass // slow updates

Chapter seven

I'd been in the woods for about an hour when I heard cracking branches as a white wolf prowled into the clearing. I knew he'd made the noise so not to frighten me he came bounding up like a giant puppy leaping and flopping with his tongue out. So when he came closer I wrapped an arm tightly over him as bright lights flared and there Fenrys was hugging me tightly against his chest as I sobbed endlessly until his shirt had damp patches so he gently pushed me back before shucking it off the clinging material rasping slightly as it was removed rubbing his tanned back. I must have been gawking slightly as he turned and smirked towards me.
"I thought my gorgeousness might cheer you up."
" What gorgeousness all I see is an old man" I sniffled smiling at my comeback though.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Not really" I turned and looked right up into his dark eyes he placed a hand around the back off my head cupping it close I looked into his dark eyes watching him as if in slow motion he moved his mouth to mine capturing it in a sweet soft kiss that left me burning for more. We sat losing ourselves in each others eyes before we realised that darkness had fallen and we had a long journey ahead of ourselves in the morning back to my home on the Terrasen border.

Fenrys picked me up and carried me all the way back to the little inn. I could feel his heart beating as I pressed into his chest. As soon as we got back to the inn he carried me into my room and placed me on my bed tenderly before going to leave I reached out and grabbed his hand half heartedly." Please don't leave I don't want to be alone." I whispered he sighed before shucking off his shirt and  climbing into the bed beside me I pulled my clothes off thanking the gods I put on a matching lace set that morning before sliding into the bed I hadn't realised how cold I was until Fenrys mentioned it.
"Riv your shaking the bed."
" Well you know I'm cold not all of us have built in furnaces." I huffed as the bed began creaking his scent washed over me as I was cocooned in his warmth.
"No expectations just warmth." He breathed into my ear stirring the fiery red strands of my hair so slightly. We were soon both asleep.

I cracked my eyes open the bright sunlight burning down on scorched earth. I could feel the coolness of the iron cuffs securing me tightly to the flag post. I was still at Ferro rupem meaning I'd imagined everything with Fenrys and Rowan I was never going to see them again I would die here as a worthless whore it seemed fitting a disowned princess would die a criminal I felt the tears lining my eyes as i watched the males line up eying my scarcely clothed body with whips in hand each on leather with iron curls designed to rip flesh apart. They began circling like vultures around a kill as the first blow landed I began screaming. The whips were tearing at  my flesh with ease.
I sat bolt upright in bed bringing my knees against my chest. I felt Fenrys jump out and throw a dagger into the door frame with a thunk. He looked at me with a promise of death in his eyes softening when he saw my distress. He bundled me up and pulled me into his chest the door swung back as Gavriel came in flinging out his magic blocking all of ours Rowan, Aelin and Aedion followed soon after.
" Riv what happened we heard screaming." Gavriel rushed out scanning me for injury.
"I'm sorry I woke you, it's just the nightmares I'd thought they'd gone but apparently not." I yawned stretching.
Aedion turned cocking an eyebrow at Fenrys as I scrabbled out of his arms realising how it looked.
"Fenrys, you got here quickly even for a fae" Aedion scanned the rough looking for evidence in his assumptions.
"I winnowed in before all you came thundering through the door." He replied smoothly as Aelin grunted and walked out shortly followed by Rowan.
"I'm going back to bed if your alright Riv." He gave a weak smile running a hand down my face." Goodnight."
"Night Gav." I replied weakly settling back into the blush coloured sheets Fenrys stood beside the oak bed board I gave Aedion a death glare as he lingered beyond the thresh hold which thankfully he took as his cue to leave scuttling out of the room after we lost sent of him Fenrys slid into the bed pulling my waist into him banding his arms around me.
"What happened? You were thrashing and screaming you called out for Azriel?"
"It was a nightmare and you'll meet Az soon enough. Now I'm going back to sleep if you don't mind we have an early start." He groaned into my shoulder. I was secretly excited we were staying at my home Foxwood manor before carrying onto the capital months later. I fell asleep with a smile on my face at this thought.

I was rudely awaken by a giggling in my room, realising it was Evangeline probably with Aelin and Lysandra I decided to play along. Footsteps creaked on the old oak panels as she crept towards my bed before leaping onto it I reached out one hand grabbing her making her shriek in surprise as I was sitting up Aelin and Lysandra walked in laughing.
"Evangeline I thought you knew better than to sneak up on a fae." Just at that moment the bed beside me moved and I remember Fenrys had stayed in my room last night meaning I had to get rid of the others or received another lecture from Rowan, but it would seem fate was against me as Fenrys rolled over groggily and wrapped his arms around my torso as Evangeline gave the game away.
"Lysandra why is there a man in Riv's bed" she squeaked
"I'm not a man I'm a male there's a difference." Fenrys replied still half asleep.
"Come Eva let's leave them be seems like they had a busy night." Lysandra stuck her hand out for the unusually perky eleven year old to grab.
"Care to explain or do I need to get Rowan up here." Aelin smirked lifting a well groomed brow.
"Fen stayed with me after my nightmare to keep an eye on me why's that so bad." I lied smoothly as he grunted in approval." Anyway let's go to breakfast I'm starving and ready to go home." Quickly changing the subject before sliding out of the warmth into the wardrobe looking for today's outfit it had to be something simple that wouldn't draw attention to the situation hopefully Aelin wouldn't be a brat and spill all this to Rowan or I'd be in deep unending shit.
