Esperanza's POV

It all started one year ago in London. I was walking to where I was staying when a man ran up to me. "Are you Esperanza Torreto?" I just kept walking trying to get away. The man followed me and called after me. My chest started to tighten and my breathing sped up. "Hey!" I bolted down the street trying to lose him. Ignoring anyone calling after me. I ran into the shop and shut the garage door. When I turned around I got weird looks.

"E you okay?" Brian asked. I shook my head no and fell to my knees not able to breathe. "E! Someone get Han!" he ran to my side and picked me up. "You're okay E. I need you to breathe." My vision started to blur from lack of air. I started to hyperventilate.

Brian laid me down on a couch and ran out to find Han. I started to panic more now that I'm alone. Rookie mistake Brian. My vision started to blur. I tried to call for help but no sound came out.

"Brian you idiot!" I heard Han yell. He ran in and came to my side. "It's okay E. I'm here for you. I need you to take deep breaths." I started to cry. Tears rolled down my cheeks. "Brian get my her bag! Her inhaler is in there." He turned his attention back to me, "just breathe. Nothing else matters. Deep breaths. Ready? In... and out." He went through the motions with me until I was calm and could breathe. "Good job E!" He hugged me. "You want to tell me what happened or do you want your inhaler first?" I nodded my head to the inhaler he had in his hands. "You know this is the third panic attack this week. This isn't healthy E," he said while I took a deep breathe. Breathing in my medication from my inhaler.

"I know, but today was different." He gave me a look, but I continued anyway. "I was walking back here after going to the music store like I do every Friday. Well this guy came up to me and asked me if I was Esperanza Torreto. It freaked me out he got my first name right and I didn't know what to do so I kept walking and eventually started running. That's when I got here. Brian saw me and that's when the attack truly started. I didn't know what to do or say. Didn't help he left me mid attack to find you." I gave Brian a glare as he stood on the other side of the room.

"At least I was going to go get help!" He shouted back when Don walked into the room.

"Wait E. Can you tell me what he asked you again?" Han asked nervously.

"H-He asked me if I was Esperanza Torreto..." I said quietly. Dom is a really nice guy but he scared the shit out of me. "H-Hey D-Dom..." I stuttered like I always did after an attack.

"You still up for that driving lesson or do want to do a different one today? Or none at all, which is okay. What ever will make you comfortable." Man why is he so nice to me. I'm the weakest member of the team. The only reason I'm still on his team is because I'm Han's kid. I wasn't always this way, but after seeing something I never want to see again I've been a bit jumpy. Anxiety attacks all the time. It's a life of fear. Dom's lessons Han says are to help build my confidence back up and to help me get better so I can do jobs again.

"C-Can we do hand-to-hand fighting today?" I asked shyly. They're right. My confidence is gone.

Dom smiled at me, "sure kid. I'll get it set up. You get changed and meet me in the gym in 20 minutes." Dom gave me a hug before leaving the room.

"E. These attacks have to stop. It's not safe for you here anymore. I talked to Dom and he says Mia would be happy to have you. She can help." I looked at him in disbelief. The only person I can truly trust and only person who knows how to help me during an attack wants to send me halfway across the world. "You need a female in your life."

"I have Letty. She's helps me. I'll I need is you Han. You're all I got. I can't leave you." I said standing up to go to my room to change. Before I left I made my point clear with Han, "I'm not going to go." Then I left to go to my room.

Time skip...

Han's POV

"What am I going to do? I can't send her to L.A. or she'll have a panic attack everyday without me. If she stays she could get hurt if someone came looking for us. I can't let either happen." I sighed after confiding in Dom. He's my best friend I know I can trust him. "Dom today's attack was a close one. If I didn't get her to breathe when she did. I-I would have had to take her to the hospital..." I started to cry. E isn't my actual child. I adopted her after her parents died in an accident. I was close with her parents so she was already comfortable around me. After the accident she's been glued to me.

"She's going to be fine. She worked her ass off today. E's a good fighter. Some more training and confidence boosting and she'll be the best member of the team." He patted my back as I wiped my tears.

"And some serious driving lessons," I laughed. "I'm not giving them. Last time I was in a car with her I thought I was going to die." We both laughed.

"She's learning. You can teach her computer stuff. Letty can teach her how to use weapons. I can keep teaching her how to fight and Brian can teach her how to drive. It will be a team effort." I laughed at the thought of Brian giving her driving lessons.

"Let's get the team together and tell them the plan. I think they'll agree, but I'm scared they think she's annoying or just think she hopeless." I sighed and put my head into my hands.

"We don't think she's not hopeless. She's still got a fighting chance to win that fire back. Even though I might loose my life trying to teach her how to drive, we will do everything to help her." I heard Brian say. I looked up and saw the whole team in front of me.

"Dude stop moping around and let's get class into session!" Rowan shouted excited.

"You know we're going to have you teach her too. If you don't come up with something we'll trade you out with Brian for driving." Tej said punching Rowan jokefully in the arm.

"Oh heck no! I'm not teaching her how to drive a car. I would like to live a long and happy life!" Rowan yelled as he stormed out of the room.

"I'll teach her how to drive but there's actually something I want to teach her." Brian said looking at the door thinking.

"Let's go!" Tej shouted as he punched the air. I smiled and walked out of the crew. This was going to be good. Little did I know how much trouble we were about to get into.
