Chapter Four

Esperanza's POV

    My eyes fluttered open slowly. Pain surged through my body. Where was I? My eyes finally opened fully and I was able to see that I was in a hospital. Han was sitting next to me holding my hand. There was someone standing next to him, but I couldn't tell who it was because Han stood up as soon as he saw I was awake.

    "You're okay! I'm so glad you're okay!" He hugged me causing even more pain. Han quickly let go, "sorry... I'm just so glad you're okay." I tried to sit up but Han grabbed the remote for the bed and the bed did it itself. "You need to relax. E do you remember anything that happened?" I tried to think back, but my head was all groggy.

    "I-I can't... It's all fuzzy..." My head started to hurt a lot. My whole body ached. The person that was next to Han ran out to get a nurse.

    "E you okay?" I looked up to see Hobbs all suited up in his bulletproof vest he wears when he's on the job. I shook my head and tried to relax while my whole body hurt. "Understandable. So you don't remember anything that happened?" Why does everyone want to know if I remember? Before I could answer a nurse came in and pushed everyone out of her way. She increased the amount of pain meds I was on which made my head even groggier. I couldn't think. I could hear the nurse talking to the others. I could see Hobbs walking over to my bedside. He took my hand and whispered, "you are safe now E. No one will ever hurt you again." He walked back out of the room after kissing my forehead.

    "Get some sleep E," I shook my head. Han should know why I don't sleep. "Come on E. Your body needs it." I crossed my arms and looked away from him. He kissed my forehead and put a loose hair behind my ear, "I promise I won't leave your side while you sleep. The sooner you go to sleep the sooner you'll get better and get to go home. The nurse said you can't have any other visitors until you sleep. So that means you can't see the team until you fall asleep." I nodded my head and let my eyes close.

Dom's POV

    I sat in the waiting room again. They wouldn't let me or Letty in because we weren't her legal guardians. They would only let Han and Gisele in. It's been hours since they went to Esperanza's room. Soon Hobbs walked over after talking to some of his men. "Thank you Hobbs. You don't know how thankful I am."

    "Torreto it's fine. There's a guy out there that tried to kill our Esperanza. No one messes with family." I smiled at him using a line I have used on him countless times. "Plus he's a psycho killer. I've been assigned to take him down. We know that she's one of his biggest targets." I felt the color leave my face. My little innocent E was on his to kill list. "Dom you okay?" I shook my head no and sat down. My head was spinning. I couldn't see straight. "Dom stick with me! Someone get help!" Hobbs yelled. I couldn't stop thinking about E. My little girl wanted to be killed by someone. She's done nothing wrong in her life.

    "Dom!" I heard Mia scream. She of course ran to my side. "Get him water! Dom listen to me. You need to stop worrying right now. Dom listen to me!" I couldn't get my mind off of E. Before I knew it everything went black.
