A few days later, I was walking downstairs after I had woken up. I stepped into the kitchen, but saw no one in there.

"Brycie" I had yelled hoping she would respond. After I had heard nothing I went back in the kitchen to get some food. As I was going to the refrigerator, I saw a note.

Dear Riley,

Me and my family went to go to my parents house and won't be back until late. We didn't want you to be alone so we invited Spencer. I hope you don't mind. He should be arriving at 11:00 am. Have fun! See you later.

Sincerely,
Alan

I put the note down on the counter and looked at the clock on the stove. 10:43 am is what I read. I looked down at what I was wearing and decided to go get ready into something else. And fast. I ran upstairs and into my room. I stripped down and got in the shower. I did what I had to do and got out five minutes later. I changed into something comfortable.

Then I went downstairs. As I was tiptoeing down the stairs, I heard the sound of the TV in the living room. I quietly snuck around the house and into the kitchen. I walked in the doorway, but immediately froze. I saw Spencer looking around in the fridge which, fortunately for me, had him facing away from me. I quietly, but quickly walked away and to the living room where I saw Loony Tunes playing on the TV. 'I love this show' I thought to myself. I sat down on the couch and watched as Bugs Bunny escaped the hunter. After watching for a few minutes my stomach growled in hunger. I rolled my eyes and got up. I walked to the kitchen where I saw Spencer pouring himself a cup of milk.

"Whatchya doin?" I asked him, startling him in the process. He turned around and saw my smiling face.

"You scared me Riley. I didn't know you were up" he stated. I laughed.

"Yeah I've been up" I informed. He nodded and put the milk jug up. I got some bread and popped them into the toaster. I skipped over to the fridge and got out spray butter, then I waited for my toast. After a few minutes my toast finally decided to come up nice and toasty (pun intended). I then put them on a paper plate and sprayed the butter on each slice and walked back to the living room once I put the butter up. I sat on the opposite side of the couch that Spencer was on. I felt his gaze on me so I looked over to him with my mouth full of toast.

"What?" I asked him.

"I don't bite, you know" I gave him a confused looked.

"What are you talking about" he sighed and looked between us. I did the same which caused me to think

'Why would he care'

But maybe it was just me thinking that he actually had slight feelings for me, but why would he?

A few hours later we were both walking around the cold Nashville. We made our way to a park and sat on a cold, metal bench. I watched as people walked around holding hands and smiling. I heard children's laughter and couldn't help but to smile. I heard someone clearing their throat and I turned to Spencer.

"Yes?" I asked him. He looked down, playing with the bag that he had been carrying this entire time.

"Um...uh I was talking to Brycie a few days ago and she had said that um..that your father had destroyed your Bible" he paused. I looked at him.

"And..." I murmured urging him on.

"And I just wanted to give you this" he finished and dipped his hand into the bag and almost instantly pulled his hand out with a beautiful black leather Bible. My hand went over my mouth and tears instantly filled my eyes. I was speechless as I held the Bible in my hands. I looked at Spencer and smiled at him. I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Thank you, Spencer. You have no idea how much this means to me" I stated truthfully. He hugged me tighter and then pulled out of the hug. He just smiled at me.

"We should go back to your house" he said and I nodded as I looked at the time. 6:37 is what I read.

"Yeah we should" I said still smiling. We walked back in comfortable silence. No noise besides the chatter of people and the moving cars. When we had gotten to my house, I saw Alan's car in the driveway. I looked at Spencer then headed to the door. I opened it to find Alan lying on the floor with two of his girls piled on top of him. I laughed slightly and headed to the kitchen. I found Brycie cooking spaghetti. I quickly hugged her and sped up to my room, my new Bible in my hands. I silently thanked God for letting me meet these wonderful people and put my Bible down on my bedside table.

"Riley the spaghetti is done" Brycie called. I walked back downstairs to my join my new family for dinner and made some more great memories with the people who loved me from the moment we met.
