As Ruby walked up the beach to meet the rest of the family she felt as if all eyes were on her, and most of them were. She immediately felt nervous, but Gabe's strong hold of her hand helped to ease her fears. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze and she looked up at him and smiled.

"Mom, Da this is Ruby."

"Welcome to Brown Town," his dad walked up and reached out his hand. She dropped Gabe's to shake Billy's.

"It's so nice to finally get to meet you. Gabe speaks so highly of you, all of you. Thank you for having me."

"I'm Ami, it is so nice to meet you. You're just lovely." Gabe's mom walked up and pulled Ruby into a hug. "You know you are welcome here anytime."

"Thank You," Ruby replied. She really didn't know what else to say to this simple but loving gesture.

"These are my sisters, Bird and Rain," Gabe gestures to the girls standing next to his parents.

The both said hi and gave a little wave, and she mirrored them.

"Well I have food ready, let's get up there and get something to eat," Ami announces.

Everyone fell in line and walked up the trail. Gabe placed his hand on the small of Ruby's back and led her up towards the main cabin. He was so excited that she was there. He wanted to show her everything, but first he wanted to show her his place.

As the neared the main cabin Gabe announced, "We are going to go put her stuff up, we will be right back," he got a nod of acknowledgement from his family.

"Wait, Gabe. Are they going to mind us sleeping together? I mean, you told me how religious your family is," Ruby was concerned that they might disapprove and this would cause tension or them to not like her.

"No, its fine. There is a bed and a couch in my place. You can have the bed and I will take the couch. They knew that was going to be the sleeping arrangement, but if you would rather you can sleep in the main cabin. I told you it was up to you. I want you to feel comfortable. Come on, first let me show you my place," he eagerly grabbed her hand and headed to where his cabin sat.

They walked towards a small cabin that was sitting off to the right past all of the other dwelling, near a stream. It was not what she was expecting. He told her that he had got the cabin on one of the family's jobs. He hauled it back to Brown Town and had been working on it ever since. He had been able to get it livable in about 3 week, working on it when he could.

He has described his place as a small cabin, and it was bigger than she thought it was going to be. The outside has some wood that looked as if he was slowly working to replace. There was a covered porch he was in the middle of constructing that went the length of the cabin. On the half that was done, sat a small bench.

When they walked up to the door he turned. "I told you it's not much, but it is a work in progress."

"No Gabe it is really nice."

"But, it is nothing like your nice place in town."

"But this is YOUR place that's what makes it nice. It's all your, you can do what it what you want. That makes it so much nicer than my place... that I rent."

"So you like it so far. Here come on in and see the inside."

She was really shocked when she went inside. He must have replaced all of the inside walls with new wood, because it had a nice fresh wood scent. When they walked in they were in a small kitchen/living room. There was a table with 2 chair sitting in the corner by a window in the kitchen area. The living room side of the room had a small loveseat and a small coffee table. Along the back wall was two doors.
