Perfection
A preposterous concept many try to attain, sacrificing their sanity to achieve and unachievable, to project their inner most desire to be 'complete' and content in which many assume to be selfish outlook. But instead, the ideology coming from a deep place of hurt and mistreatment. This concept has been misdirected, these individuals striving for the perfect life are only searching happiness.
True happiness.
However, they are constantly disregarded from society and considered 'ill' leading them to seek this happiness through other means, primarily illicit routes.
On contrary to their beliefs Monroe did state that:
"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
Ashley reminds herself of this on a daily basis, because her life isn't perfect, her neglectful and detached mother is a prostitute nonetheless she has a supportive partner and a loving son. She couldn't have asked it any other way; her small family makes her happy and motivates her to be better and keep her head high.
Despite all that's happened to her, and her constant strength and courage she still didn't have her life in order and on top of that had numerous burning questions.
How would she explain Matt's life to him? His grandmother is a prostitute and his father is a complete mystery, would he understand what happened that night or would he judge her?
These heavy-hearted questions were constantly running through her mind, making her pulse rush, but the reassurance Jackson provided reminded her that her worries for the future would be of no benefit to her or Matt right now, instead she needed to concentrate on the present.
Jackson had stayed the night as Ashley was feeling under the weather due to her sharp stabbing pain in her ovaries that occurred during her menstrual cycle. She had curled herself up to his chest during the night subconsciously, she had done this whenever he stayed since the attack. She felt protected with Jackson, she was safe and worry immediately would escape her mind. If it were up to Ashley she would have him move in, but Jennifer thought that was "unnecessary and inappropriate" completely disregarding that Ashley was a virgin and had plans to stay that way till the wedding, Jennifer thought it would 'protect' her daughter. She was completely disregarding the fact that a random man, one of Jennifer's clients, did the unthinkable to her own daughter.
However, whenever Jennifer went out on her missions Jackson would stay to comfort Ashley and reassure her that all will be okay.
"Ash. Babe you need to get up, its noon" Jackson said while gently moving her.
"Oh God! I'm so sorry, the cramps were really bad I think I just passed out" she replied groggily.
"You need to visit the doctor, I'm sure it's not normal, you passing out constantly when you're in pain" expressing his concern.
"Actually, I didn't eat yesterday since breakfast, that's probably it"
"Babe I'm worried about you, your recent cycles have been dragging for too long, your always pale and the cramps...I'm sure they are abnormally strong. Please let's go."
"Whatever you say Doc!" she stated with a small smile. "Where's the little man?"
"He just went down for his nap, come I'll make some brunch" Jackson responded, and softly kissed Ashley before leaving the room.
The harsh winter made Ashley shiver as she got up from her bed making her rush to put on her fleeced grey night robe.
She exited her room and travelled to the room across hers, she slowly opened the door and slipped into the dark room, closing the door behind her.
