Chapter 5

After that, were just sitting against the wall I was previously playing volleyball with. Hinata had somehow gotten to lay his head on my lap, while I rested my hand on his arm, letting our hands hold each other with our fingers intertwined.

We sat there for quite a while actually, the sun was starting to set. I gently prised Hinata's hand from mine and signed to him.

"The sun is setting, we should go."

Hinata looked up at me and pouted.

"I was enjoying this!"

"If you want, you could come round mine. My mum won't be home."

"Alright, I'll have to text my mum first."

We sat for a little while longer while Hinata texted his mum. Meanwhile, my hand had unconsciously found Hinata's soft locks. I realised this and started playing with his hair, it felt like silk.

Hinata backed into my hand, to which I kissed him on the forehead. This earned a VERY red Hinata!

After another 5 minutes or so, Hinata showed me his phone, which was his mum allowing him to stay over.

"C'mon let's go!"

Hinata grabbed his bike and we were walking, side by side down the road, to my house.

"Hinata"

"What's up?"

"Nothing... Never mind"

"Are yous sure? I don't want you to bottle up anything."

"I'll tell you when we get to my house"

"Okay!"

I stepped inside the empty house and led Hinata to the lounge.

"Do you want to watch a movie?"

"YES!!!"

Hinata jumped up, nearly hitting his head on the ceiling. I chuckled.

"Careful silly, your going to hurt yourself."

Hinata looked up at me and beeped my nose.

"I prefer your smile to your frown, Kageyama-kun"

"I guess I will just have to smile often then."

Hinata let out a small giggle, while blushing madly. I took his soft hand and pulled him over to the DVD area.

"Which movie? You choose!"

"Okay... How about this one?"

He holds up a comedy. (Breaking cliches 😂😉)

"Okay!" 

I put the DVD in the DVD player and turned on the TV. I made sure to put subtitles on as well. Once I sorted that out, I sat next to Hinata on the sofa. As soon as I did, I felt him edge slightly closer to me, until about 10 minutes later, he had his head on my shoulder and his knees resting near my legs.

Every so often, Hinata would let out a soft giggle. His voice must be so nice. It almost relaxed me.

"Your laugh is nice"

"Really!"

"Yeah, I like it"

The movie was nearing a close. Hinata suddenly moved so he was sitting, staring straight at me.

"What did you want to tell me before?"

"Well... I was just wondering whether you have told anybody about our relationship, or you being gay?"

"No, I have a feeling my mum knows, even though I have NEVER told her!"

"The movie has finished, do you want to go upstairs?"

"Sure."

We walked up the stairs, to my room.

"Kageyama-kun..."

"Yes?"

"Could I... Maybe... Sleep with you?"

He twiddled his fingers and rubbed his toe, obviously anxious. I ruffled his hair and smiled once more at him.
"Of course."

There it was, the eyes that lit up. They brought energy into that moment. How I love those eyes.

We had finally gotten settled, when Hinata hugged my back. I was suprised, but turned around, so I was hugging his back instead. I reached over his shoulders so I could sign to him.

"What's up?"

"Well, I was just thinking."

"Okay, do you want to tell me?"

"Maybe. I don't know."

I felt a tear drop onto my arm that was supporting Hinata's head. I hugged him closer and fiddled with his hair, making sure he knows how much he means to me.

"Kageyama-kun."

"Yes?"

"What is it like to hear?"

"Well, I don't really know. It's just a part of life I suppose."

"For me, not hearing brings the colour out of a lot of things. I was never able to join in some class projects and lessons because I couldn't hear. It was annoying because all I did was be there for moral support. It sucks being deaf."

"Have you tried applying to hospitals for ear surgery?"

"No, but even if I did, it's very unlikely to get far. My mum doesn't have enough money for that right now."

"Maybe we could save up a little?"

"Maybe. I don't know."

I turned Hinata round so he was facing me and pecked him on the cheek. I gave him a warm smile as I looked into his watery eyes. I used my thumbs to pull his mouth into a smile.
"Don't feel down. Look at the good things in life, rather than the bad things."

Hinata just looked down and I could see tears dropping onto my mattress. I lifted his head up once more and wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Sorry. No-one has really cared that much about me, other than my mum and sister."

"Don't worry"

I pulled his head to my chest and rested my chin on his head. I was relieved to hear faint snores coming from Hinata. I relaxed and closed my eyes, getting ready for sleep.

Today was a good day.

He just makes me fall for him again and again.
