Chapter 10

Kageyama's POV:
Today is the last day. The last hospital Hinata is going to get tested in. We had most of the results from the other hospitals, but we decided to wait to open them, so we could open them up at the same time. I had to wake up early today, since I was going to take Hinata to the hospital.

I walked over to Hinata's house and knocked on the door. Natsu opened the door slightly and beamed up at me.

"Hey Natsu-Chan! Where's Shouyou?"

"Oh he's upstairs but Tobio-kun, be careful I think he is in a bad mood."

"Okay!"

I headed upstairs slowly. I wonder what Hinata was upset about. I knocked on his door first before going in.

I saw a Hinata shaped lump underneath the covers of the bed, shaking slightly. I walked over to the bed and sat down, placing my hand on the lump.

The bedsheets moved as Hinata got out of them. He looked at me slowly, tears flowing down his red face. Upon seeing me, he immediatly hugged me. I gently put my arms around him and let him cry into my shoulder. I could feel my shirt getting wet from his tests tears. After a while, he broke the hug.

"Sorry."

"What for? What's wrong Shouyou? "

"I'm scared..."

"Shouyou there's no reason to be scared. I'm right here beside you!"

"I'm just scared of the results. I don't know what I'm going to get."

"Don't worry Shouyou. I'll love you either way."

He smiled up at me and I pulled him into another hug. We stayed like that for a few minutes before I made him get ready for the hospital. After a while, we got to the train station and caught a train to our last hospital in Tokyo.

I was in the waiting room. Like all the other tests, I wasn't allowed in the room. Eventually after 45 minutes, he came out the doors and walked over to me, with a doctor following close behind.

"Kageyama Tobio?"

"Yes?"

"You will get Hinata's results within the next 4 days, could you write down some information so we can get the results back to you?"

I nodded and filled out a sheet, which included phone number and address. After that, we left, Hinata being oddly quiet.

"Are you still worried?"

"A bit."

We were walking back home and Hinata seemed to get even more sad. He hung his head low and was walking closer to me. I wish I could help him. I know that he is worried about his results, but what more can I say than 'it'll be fine' ? I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, hopefully giving him some hope.

We finally arrived home. The 9 hospital letters ready to be opened on the kitchen table.

"Do you want to do it?"

Hinata shook his head, so I sat down with the letters in my hand. Hinata sat close by me, watching my hands intensely. I opened them all, and placed them face down on the table.

"Pick one!"

Hinata pointed to the furthest letter on the right. I pulled it towards me and began to read.

Hinata Shouyou,

We are regrettably informing you that we are unable to complete a successful surgery on your ears.

We wish you the best in finding someone who will be able to help you.

I gave it to Hinata. He seemed put down, but we still had 8 other letters to go through, not including the one from the Tokyo Hospital.

We carried this game on for the next 10 minutes. Unfortuantly, we were on our last 2 and none of the previous letters were able to do surgery. Hinata looked at the last 2 letters

I saw his face go red and he started shaking a little. I could tell he was about to cry. I reached my arms around him as he cried into my shoulder. He continued sobbing into my arm for another 15 minutes before calming down and just laying in my arms.

"Can I sleep with you tonight?"

"Of course."

I smiled and kissed the top of his head before leading him upstairs to his room. It was still fairly early, but we managed to fall asleep fairly quickly.
