Chapter 3 - First Day

  Victoria's POV

"What do you mean you can't put up surveillance?" Sonia yelled on the other side of the phone.

"Not yet. It's my first day today, if they suspect anything they'll fire me Son. I have to spend a few days in there first, analyzing and learning my way through the palace, only then will I be able to install surveillance. I gotta go now Son, I'll talk to you later" I responded, cutting her off before she could argue.

This was it, the beginning of their deaths.

I pulled out the keys I had been handed and slipped them into the back gate, making my way inside where I could already see security present.

"State your name and your business at the palace?" A guard questioned whilst approaching me.

"My name is Freya Parker, I'm the new tutor for Mi- Ms. King" I stated, showing signs of nervousness to express my innocence.

"Documentation and contract?" he requested causing my hands to take instant action and pulled the required documents out. Handing them to the guard, I stepped back, waiting patiently for them to grant me access.

I had waited so long to get inside this castle, the anticipation was killing me.

Finally, the guard led me inside the first few doors, handing me a card and my documents back.

"This is key is what you should use to clog in and out every time you exit and enter the palace. It is also a key to the back gate, you will no longer need that key, just scan the card on the reader beside the door and you will be let in. You will be required to pass through security check every time and right ahead of you is where you can pass your card to sign in and out. The guards on the other side will show you to Mia King's dorm. From there, I'm sure Ms. King will familiarize you with the rest of the palace, however apart from your designated spot, you are not to go anywhere else around the palace. Have I made myself clear?" I nodded, walking towards security check, going through all the procedures.

Once I was clear, the guards made sure I signed in before they led me inside, towards Mia's room.

Mia King, daughter of David and Olivia King the Alpha's of the Royals, and sister of Christian King the new Alpha of the Alpha pack. The Royals were divided into three families: The King's, also known as the Alpha family of the Royals, the Summer's, the Beta family, whose daughter Kate Summer's was the Beta, and the Holland's, the Gamma family, whose son James Holland was the new Gamma.

My revenge had nothing to do with the new and current ruling members of the Royal families, but who doesn't want revenge for their parents death, therefore it would be better to wipe out the entire family. Including my student, Mia King.

The Guard led me towards the elevator, taking me to the 5th out of the 7 floors there were in the palace. He then proceeded to lead me to one out of the many rooms on the floor. At this rate, I would need a map to memorize every bit of the palace, it was bigger than I had thought.

He knocked gently on the door, opening it slowly to bring me into the room of Mia King. My eyes widened at the sight of the bedroom. Now I was desperate for revenge. The Royals had a throne made up of all those they destroyed to get there, and I was going to be the one to make sure I freed all those and break the throne they had destroyed so many to make.

Mia King's room was large.

Scratch that! It was huge! It had everything a normal bedroom lacked, fireplaces, TV's, sofa's, and a lot more.

My eyes soon feel on the petite brunette figure who had managed to stand right in front of me. Mia King.

"Hi, you must be Freya Parker, I'm Mia King" she announced happily, pulling me into a hug, taking me completely by surprise. Well, she seems nice.

When we parted, I realised that the Guards had left, leaving me alone with Mia. She grabbed my hand, dragging me into her room, shutting the door behind us.

"This is my room, and also the place where the tutoring will take place. I hope you aren't feeling uncomfortable. Make yourself at home" she offered politely, sitting me down on one of the chairs in front of her bed.

"Thank you Ms. King, I'm very comfortably" I commenced, bringing the good girl act in full force.

"Oh please, call me Mia, no formalities needed" I smiled, nodding slightly.

"Well Mia, I thought since today is our first session and I am not here full time we could just start off by getting to know each other" I offered kindly. Her smile extended and she bobbled her head up and down. "Great! How about we start with your family" I began, diving straight in, judging by her bubbly attitude; I knew I was off to a good start.

"Well, you probably already know about who they are-"

"How about you fill me in about how all of your families are related?" I questioned.

"Oh we aren't related by anything it's just that our parents had the strongest pa- I mean, businesses here, so they just combined and then we eventually became the Royals. We might not be related by blood, but we all get along just well, in fact, Kate Summer's has been wooed to my brother! I'm finally going to have a sister-in-law!" Mia exclaimed, discreetly stopping herself from exposing her kind to what she thought was a human. Her words had taken me by surprise, the Royals wanted to combine families? What would happen to the Beta family with no other heir for Beta? I'm sure that Kate was not capable of doing the roles of both Luna and Beta.

That was something I had to figure out, and fast.

In the mean time, I focused back on Mia, thinking about something other than her family to subside the pressure of her family.

"That's great! Tell me, what's it like to be part of the Royal families? "

After my first official shift was over, I exited Mia's room, looking around to see that surveillance camera's covered the entire passage, removing the thoughts of shifting into my snake to explore from my mind. However, from a certain distance, I could hear someone approaching, making my heart rate speed up out of the blue. Whoever it was, their effect on me was somewhat weird. I frowned, not understanding what was going on and walking a few feet ahead to hide behind a pillar.

Unfortunately the person hadn't emerged from the other side of the passage only limiting me to listen to the conversation that was going on.

"Dad, how could you possibly want me to propose to Kate in two weeks? We haven't' even dealt with the large Rogue problem coming our way and you think that this is the perfect time to begin a marriage?" Through his words, I knew exactly who it was, Christian King, son of my biggest enemy.

Why did he have this...strange effect on me, instantly making me feel uncomfortable? I backed up a little, taking a deep breath. That's enough exploring for a day, tomorrow is a new day. I convinced myself before walking out of the pillar and down the stairs towards the back entrance where I signed out and found myself dashing out of the gates of the Royal palace.

I could somehow feel a strange gaze upon me, as if someone was observing me, but I ignored it, walking deep into the forest, after checking there was no one around, I bent down, shifting into my pitch black snake and slithered away back to my house to discuss the next part of my plan with Sonia.
