CHAPTER 5

It was becoming evident that I was hanging out with the boys more and more because they were growing onto me, and also I didn't have anything better to do since they were the only people I knew. For the couple of weeks since I moved, I was already spending time with them almost everyday; either getting picked up to go to one of the boys' houses and watching them practice and play video games, eating out, or doing random shit in Sydney. It was all starting to cling on to me and I actually began to appreciate moving. The other day, we went out for bowling and Calum and I jokingly said we were going to get married someday, which Ashton gave us looks for.

I was able to go out more since my mom emailed Dr. Sanders and he told her she needed time for herself and needed to stop worrying about me, which was why I had so much anxiety before we moved. It's been really awkward since Uncle Joey has been trying to hook my mom up with this friend of his but it's been uncomfortable for both my mom and Matthew and me. Ever since my dad left, it's been quiet and my mom went through a coldhearted phase that left Matthew and I to deal with our own shit while she managed her breakdowns. Now, she that she has her brother Joey here, she's trying to maintain her anxiety and be less crazy. It's such a weird change.

Recently, she was also getting more lenient because I interviewed for jobs like she asked me to; hopefully, I can be a waitress at this small restaurant in town. I wasn't someone who wanted a job but of course by my mom's order, I had to get off my ass to get money and be busy with life.

But really, I was hanging out with the boys more than trying to be more adult like. It was weird though that every time I was with Ashton by ourselves, he would be nice and cheeky, a bit flirty but he was actually a good guy. When we were with the boys, he wasn't even cheeky or flirty anymore, acting like a typical guy. I have to admit I gained a crush over the past couple of days every time I came to their practices and he would be playing the drums, always catching my glances at him. He was so adorable and sometimes, I had a feeling he liked me too, but I brushed it off knowing it was just my imagination leading me on.

The Sydney area was becoming familiar since I went out more and today, I got picked up by Mikey and we were going out to a burger place with everyone.

"What are you getting man?" Calum leaned over to Luke and read his menu, even though we all received the same one. I had eaten a little before we came here and I decided I was only getting french fries and a milkshake.

"Probably a double bacon cheeseburger." Luke smirked. It was really awkward having five people instead of four people sit at a booth because three had to squish in one section, and I was that squished person in between Calum and Luke, two of the tallest people I've ever sat next to.

"Woah, space Cal. You have your own menu and you're leaning over me," I pushed him away as he got closer to irritate me. He pouted at me while he blinked a couple times. I had gotten close to Calum and Michael over the past few weeks since they were so insistent on hanging out that they wouldn't let me refuse; all of the guys never let me say no.

"What about you Izzie?" They had stuck on the nickname even though I had refused, but it was okay since they made it sound adorable.

"Just some fries and a shake...I'm not hungry." I shrugged and Calum poked my arm, calling me a skinny-butt. "I ate earlier before we got here," I replied.
