4. Lupin smiled sloppily

Sirius's POV

The evening was quiet and disturbing to Sirius. This was the second day without Mr.Lupin showing his face at all. Sirius didn't feel like friday at all without him to be honest. Usually he would treat Sirius something nice or they would do something Sirius wanted or plan their saturday or... Anything at all but not studying.

Sirius laid back on his chair and rolled the pen in his fingers. His attempt on doing homework felt so useless. He didn't understand a thing. Mr.Lupin always explained everything to him so it didn't feel right. And besides, Sirius was so bad at math. Black haired boy sighed heavily and looked out of his window. The snow was falling down to their yard, covering it with white. Sirius liked snow... He also liked Christmas, but nowdays that holiday was as useless as a candywrapper inside a candywrapper.

Sirius' parents didn't really care about the christmas and usually Sirius ran away on eve's eve to Potters to spend a christmas. This year however James and his family went to visit some further away family and even if they asked him to come with them Sirius couldn't just go. It was their family not his. He had no right to go with them. It was eve's eve wasn't it? And yet Sirius was here, doing his math homework. Alone.

As the last word escaped Sirius' mind his door creaked open. Sirius tried to turn around fast with his chair but he forgot that he was leaning backwards. The chair let out a creak then it snapped one leg off and Sirius fell on the floor straight to his back.

Sirius hissed and put his hands behind his back.
"Are you okay?" a warm voice asked and Sirius whaved his hand, keeping his eyes closed.
"Do I look like I am?" Sirius muttered angrily and turned so he could sat up on the floor. Sirius rubbed his handa still againts his hurting occipital.
"Here, this is for you." The man said and Sirius opened his eyes and lifted his gaze.

Sirius smiled. He took the chocolate bar and opened it.
"Thank you Mr.Lupin." Sirius said and took a bite.
"Well aren't you polite today." Mr.Lupin laughed and shook his head.
"Well... It is christmas and all." Sirius explained and sit up better on the floor.

Mr.Lupin looked at him, like he was questioning him. And he was.
"There is still two days till Christmas." Mr.Lupin pointed out. Sirius nod, showing that he knew that.
"Yeah but my christmas is today. Tomorrow was the day I spend with James and Peter and in the evening I go to Potters, every year. It was my christmas eve so today is christmas day." Sirius explained.
"We don't really spend christmas at home. Mum and Father just invite some important people over from work and we need to come, introduce ourselves, have tea and then go to our rooms and be dead silent." Sirius told

Mr.Lupin nod understandingly and sat on the floor with Sirius. Sometimes Sirius was not sure if to call Mr.Lupin funny or just plain weird, but he was nice.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be spending christmas with your family?" Sirius asked and picked up the black wheel that snapped off of his chair.
"Don't have one. And I am here to thank you for the chocolate." Mr.Lupin said and smirked sloppily like he used to do. Sirius smirked.

Sirius and James had dropped some of the chocolate to Mr.Lupin's porch as a crhristmas gift.
"You know what? I'll take you to milkshake." Mr.Lupin said and slapped his knee, getting up. Sirius looked at him, confused but stood up too.
"Why?" Siriud asked but Mr.Lupin had already turned his back to him and walked out of the door.
"Mr.Lupin wait!" Sirius said in a hurry and grabbed his jacket, pulling it on. Mr.Lupin peeked from behind the door, smiling.
"Oh drop the Mister already. It sounds so weird and formal." M- Lupin said and Sirius nod, dashing after his tutor who had already somehow managed his way to the half way of the stairs.

Lupin pushed the door open and walked in the tiny, familiar cafe and Sirius slipped in from the closing door.
"Oh Remus nice to see you." Carmen said smiling from behind the counter. Sirius smirked happily and waved.
"Oh and Sirius too. Are you together?" The older lady asked and Sirius' eyes went wide.
"Yes. I am treating him a milkshake for christmas. Oh also he is the boy I said I was tutoring." Lupin said with a formal smile.
