We waved down a cab getting out of dodge right before the cops showed up. The cabbie dropped us off at my apartment. Cyrus was kind enough to help me up to my room where we were greeted by Lenna at the door.

Lenna opened the door a little wider for us: "What happened to you guys?"

Cyrus and i looked at each other. Both of us had steaks of dirt all over and bruises on our knuckles. I was limping and had some dried blood on my forehead from falling down those metal stairs. I'll probably have more bruises in the morning because of that.

Looking back to Lenna: "We got into a street fight. And may i ask what are you doing here?"

Lenna shrugged: "I was bored, thought i might find some entertainment over here."

: "Right...um, is Galena.." Right then Galena came walking out of the kitchen. "Never mind."

Galena took one look at me and sighed: "It's broken."

Lenna burst out laughing.

: "But you didn't even really look at it!"

Galena: "I don't have to. Anyone can tell a foot shouldn't bend that way."

: "Could you at least wrap it up for me please?"

Galena: "Yeah, take a seat on the couch. I'll get the crutches while i'm at it."

Lenna was almost rolling on the floor with laughter when Galena came back in and wrapped up my ankle handing me the crutches after she finished. Cyrus had already left then Galena first started.

Hobbling over to Lenna, i hit her in the side with my crutch: "It's not that funny."

Of course she paid me no mind and just continued too snicker. Galena headed back into the kitchen. I took this as the opportunity to get out of there before she same back to scold me.

When i got down to the street, i decided taking a cab would be ultimately better than trying to walk. The cabbie stopped right in front of Karrie's hotel and on my request kept the engine running.

After hobbling out of the elevator, i simply picked the lock on the door, knowing no one would be inside. Once i was in, i went over to her dressing table and set the small box down, leaving an apology note on top of it. Not long after exiting the room, i was back in the cab on my way to Adelaide's.

Knocking on her door: "Hey Adelaide, you home?"

The door swung open to reveal a obviously stressed Adelaide.

: "Um, you ok? You look stressed."

Adelaide ushered me in: "Of course i'm stressed. My next chapter is due tomorrow and i've got nothing. I sent in your idea which my editor loved the way. I've tried to continue it many times, but none of it sounded right and..." She suddenly stopped in the middle of her rant and focused on me. "What happened to you?"

: "Tripped in a pick-up game of basketball."

Adelaide: "Sounds rough."

: "You have no idea."

I plopped myself on the couch, Adelaide sat down next to me.

Adelaide: "Do you by chance have and more ideas?"

With a smile on my face, i laughed a bit: "An idea, sit back my dear friend and take note, because have i got the story for you."
