A/N: yay, happy 35th birthday to the cutest human being alive woot woot.

Before you entered the beautiful gigantic mansion, you could hear the music pulse throughout the house. It was so loud that the windows on the residence were slightly vibrating. The home that you had assumed Eddie's parents had rented for his birthday, was the most gorgeous house you've ever seen. It was most likely a vacation home of some sort. They must really love their son to be paying for something this extravagant for his 35th birthday.

You found it sort of odd how the Redmayne's had even thought to invite you to Eddie's birthday party, you hadn't spoke to him since you were both young, and you only did speak because your parents were friend; which is the exact reason you were now being dragged to his party now.

Although you did have to thank your parents for giving you an excuse to get away from studying for a while, god you studied so much you felt like your brain couldn't hold anymore information. You decided you were going to let loose, hopefully you'll meet some old childhood friends, and hopefully you'll even have a drink or two.

You walked through the glass doorway and were welcomed by people dressed in fancy getup, dancing and jumping to the beat of the music. There were waiters coming around holding up trays of champagne and cocktails and the whole mansion smelled of alcohol and the ocean.

Within a few seconds you saw your mother having a casual conversation with Eddie's mother. You walked over, smoothing the creases on your skater dress. The moment his mother saw you, her face lit up with sparks and she held out her arms wide, smiling from ear to ear.

You do a sort of small run over and wrap your arms around her, attempting to seem polite and excited to see 'an old friend'.

"Oh my goodness Y/N, you look absolutely phenomenal! Wow I can't get over how long it's been!" she says taking one of your hands in both of hers. You smile politely and give a small chuckle.

"Look at you, you don't look like you've aged at all!" You always knew that adults loved hearing how young they look.

She blushes, flicking her hand as if to say 'oh stop it you'. You grin, trying your hardest to shield your sheer awkwardness.

Mother gracefully plucks a champagne glass from one of the waiter's trays and hands it to you. You smile and take a sip of the drink making sure to seem very delighted with the taste. If you compliment the drink you are basically complimenting the person who bought it.

"Oh! Y/N, Eddie will be so thrilled to see you after all those years, who knows maybe you two will rekindle some old feelings hmm? He really does need a girlfriend." She sighs, "He's 35 and still isn't married," she says to mom who shakes her head unapprovingly. Your face turns hot with embarrassment and you basically down the whole drink in one chug.

"Alright sweetie, go have fun. Meet some new people!" mom says as she continues to converse with Eddie's mother.

Don't mind if I do. You wanted to get as far away from that conversation as soon as possible.

You walk down the long corridors trying to find another waiter to pluck a drink off of. As you walk through the main foyer you see at least 20 actors that you have seen in films. Now that you think about it, everyone here was kind of famous, even your parents who had been successful business people. Among all of the success there was you, still in school and having done nothing outstanding yet with your life. Everyone here had probably won an Oscar or something of the sorts.

You scroll down towards a brightly lit kitchen and see a bartender serving drinks, perfect. You sit down in front of the bar folding your arms in front of you.
