Lost and Found

Chapter 1

Lucy's eyes jolted around the job board, desperately searching for some job that would pay off her rent for the month. 

The Guild was lively as usual with Natsu, Gray, and Gajeel fighting, probably over a piece of bread. The rest of the Guild ignored them and went on as if this was the norm, which it was. 

This went on for a while until Lucy shouted in exclamation, "I found one!" At that exact moment, a plate hit Lucy in the back of the head, forcing her to her knees. The three men that had originally fighting behind her straightened up immediately. Natsu rushed to Lucy's aid confirming she wasn't hurt too bad. 

"Jeez! Can you guys get along for five minutes?" Lucy shouted waving the newly-found job in her hand. 

"That hasn't happened since the day they met." Ezra explained jabbing Gray and Natsu in the abdomen. "It's actually a proven fact. They can't. I've tested." Levy giggled joining the conversation. 

"So what did you find? You know...before a plate hit you...in the head..." Natsu gasped clutching at his stomach in pain. 

"Well, as usual, my rent is due-" Lucy began but was interrupted.

"Overdue you mean?" Gajeel laughed. "You want one too?" Erza asked displaying her fist where he could see. He whimpered in response. 

"As I was saying, before I was rudely interrupted, I need to find a job to pay off my rent and I think we should all go on one together! It pays enough to split it equally between all of us! It's a great deal I do believe!" Lucy exclaimed glowing at her friends. 

"Wow, I can't believe nobody else found this before us. It does pay a lot. Seems a little fishy." Erza shared as she scanned the paper. "Fish!" Happy yelled but everyone ignored him. 

"Well, I think we should still go, and if it gets weird we can just ditch it." Lucy offered. The rest of the group agreed and they began on their way. 

"Wait! C-can I come t-to? It sounds l-like a lot of f-fun." Lisanna whimpered to the group. 

"I mean I guess you can, I don't mind. There's enough money for me to still pay rent. What you guys think?" Lucy reasoned. 

The group murmured among themselves for a while but quickly agreed for the shy, fragile girl to tag along.

"Wait, so what exactly are we doing on this job?" Natsu asked finally piping up from his light doze on Lucy's miniature couch. Lucy decided that it was okay since they were going to leave soon. Especially since they had to leave at such a late time. 

"Oh, hey sleepy head. All it says is we have to find this pearl that is like a family heirloom. I didn't read too much into it." Lucy explained. Her ponytail fell as she removed the hair tie. Her semi-wavy, blonde hair brushed across her shoulders causing Natsu to blush a little. 

"Y-you should really read the fine print Lucy. You never know what they could be asking for." Natsu said scratching at his hair trying to hide his blush. "Sorry, I just know I gotta get this month paid off or I'm going to lose my place. And I know how much you guys love this place, even though I hate you guys here." Lucy grumbled giving Natsu and sleeping Happy a glare. 

"Hehe yeah...true," Natsu guiltily laughed shifting his gaze to the floor. Lucy smiled feeling the slight blush color her face. She quickly turned to hide her reddening face from Natsu's view. Lucy glanced at the clock realizing how late they were. 

"Crap! We gotta go! The train is going to leave soon!" Lucy yelled pulling the still-drowsy Natsu and Happy off the couch. Lucy flipped the switch to her lights and pushed Natsu and Happy out the door.

Once they reached the station, the team had already boarded the train and were signaling for Lucy and Natsu to get on the train. 

"What took you guys so long?" Erza frowned crossing her arms as soon as she saw us. 

"Oh Natsu and Happy took a quick nap and we had to quickly rush out of the house." Lucy smiled taking a seat next to Erza. Erza eyed her but quickly let it go. "You know they're just gonna sleep on the way there, right?"

"Yeah I figured."

"Natsu! You can sit by me!" Lisanna tapped the seat next to her. Natsu agreed still looking half asleep. 

Lucy looked at them and felt a sudden shot of jealousy strike her heart. She watched as Natsu sat down and immediately fell asleep crossing his arms as he fell into a doze. Happy slept in the seat across from him. Lisanna pulled out a small blanket and draped it over happy causing a little smile to appear on his face. 

Lucy pulled her eyes away and began to write in her book as she forced the jealousy out of her heart. Soon enough everyone was out besides Lucy. Lucy peered around noticing everyone fast asleep. Levy was leaning on Gajeel's arms as they were crossed. Juvia was resting her head on Gray's lap as he stroked her hair absent-mindlessly while in a light doze. Natsu was sitting the same as Gajeel with his feet on the seat in front of him, and Lisanna was curled into a ball right next to him laying her head on his stomach. Happy now clung to Natsu's leg covered by the blanket Lisanna gave him. Lucy felt her grip tightening on the pen and journal. She quickly reminded herself to calm down. 

What is going on with me? Why do I get so jealous of Lisanna? Lucy asked herself as she mimicked Natsu by putting her feet on the seat in front of her. Lucy was getting sick and tired of this envy towards Lisanna. Lucy didn't even know why she was envious of her. After a while, she turned the light off and went to sleep.
