"Lucy loves someone!" Natsu laughed skipping around Lucy. Lucy reached out and tripped him causing her to laugh so hard. Lucy bent over Natsu and whispered really quietly, "I don't like anyone Nat-". Before she could finish, Natsu had kicked his leg around tripping her. But right before she hit the ground Natsu caught her and pulled her up to his face. "Are you sure?" He asked smiling his biggest smile yet.
Lucy's face blushed a deep red causing her to run away and leave Natsu to wonder what happened.
"You love him." The blue cat whispered with a smirk on his face.
"You're gonna get it cat!" Lucy yelled attempting to kick Happy, but she missed by a long-shot. Happy giggled at her attempt, but she was still flustered from Natsu's gesture.
Lucy then realized that Gray, Natsu, and Gajeel had begun fighting again. But when were they never fighting?
I bet they fight even in their dreams. Lucy thought. She couldn't help but tease them and their habits. But she didn't get much sleep that night so it was getting on her nerves.
"Could you guys shut up for one day? You guys can't even go five minutes without getting in a fight." Lucy yelled kicking at the rocks on the path. "But he started it!" All three replied, each pointing to one of the others. "I don't care! Figure it out in a sophisticated way for once!" Lucy yelled seeming to be throwing a tantrum.
The boys were dumbfounded. "Gray, Gajeel, what does she mean by sophisticated?" Natsu whispered eyeing Lucy as she walked. "I don't know," Gray began, "maybe working things out without fighting?"
"Okay I don't know about you guys, but there is no way I'm doing that, so let's just drop it for her sake." Natsu whispered, Gray and Gajeel quickly agreeing.
After a while, they finally reached the addressed home on the paper. It was an older looking house that had a Victorian look to it. The chipped blue paint that surrounded the exterior was faded from years of weathering. Vines grew up the sides of the house covering areas of the front of the home. It was meant to be a lovely home, and it was. There was just a feeling of evil that swept over Lucy as they approached the home.
The stairs creaked as they climbed to the porch where there was a white metal table. Erza knocked on the door once before it creaked open.
"I-I don't think we should g-go in I-I m-mean it just opened on it's o-own." Lisanna stuttered out shaking in fear. "Don't be chicken Lisanna! It'll be alright I'll show you!" Natsu smiled grabbing Lisanna's hand and running into the house. Lucy's heart pinged with jealousy but she didn't acknowledge it any further. They all filed into the foyer of the home.
Dust covered shelves, counter tops, and anything else that was in the house. But straight across from the front door was a man sitting in a throne-like chair. A single light bulb shone above his head casting dark shadows across his face. His shaggy blonde hair was a disorganized mess on his head. As he began to speak, his voice sounded solid with an edge.
"Thank you so much for coming so soon. I have had an issue with fetching a precious pearl." The man spoke with an evil grin on his face.
"Enough chit chat. Where do we find this pearl?" Natsu asked trying to get straight to the problem at hand. "Oh, well, it is already here." The man replied, his smile seeming to widen.
What? Lucy thought as something grabbed her foot. With one yank she was hanging from the clutches of a dark magic. "Help! Let go of me! Someone!" Lucy screamed as the magic threw her and caught her to where she couldn't escape. The hand had grabbed Lisanna at the same time and was holding her the same way. Silent tears fell down her face as she called for help.
"Lucy!" Natsu yelled attempting to grab her. "Lisanna!" He then yelled when he noticed the magic had captured her too.
The man boomed with laughter. "Look at this! The almighty Salamander has fallen for two lovely ladies! What a predicament he is in now!"
"What are you talking about? We can take you down!" Natsu looked back to see his team...frozen? "What? What did you do to them?" Natsu yelled fire slowly surrounding him.
"Oh, I might have... frozen them so they can't help you. But it's perfect for my plan!" He boomed causing an electric pulse travel through his magic.
"What plan?" Natsu yelled, fury-led flames engulfing his entire body.
"Oh nothing really. You just have to find the precious pearl. See every dragon has one pearl, and it seems you have two pretty ladies here, but you know you can't have two pearls. So you must choose one to keep for yourself. The other, I keep. So choose before I take both for myself!" The man smiled.
Natsu stopped. The flames that had consumed his body where gone. He couldn't believe it. He had to choose...one, and the other would be...gone. He couldn't chose. He loved both of them and he couldn't let either go. Lucy is his partner. He couldn't just leave her behind as if she was nothing to him. Lisanna was his childhood friend. She helped him raise Happy. She was important to him too. They both were important to him, and he...loved both of them.
"Natsu!" Natsu heard from outside of his thoughts. He looked up at Lucy. She had a tear streaking her face. "Natsu! Save Lisanna! I can save myself!" She yelled as another tear fell. "Trust me, please!"
Natsu's heart lurched by just thinking about loosing Lucy for just a day or two. But he had to trust her. She can do this. He thought as he smashed the magic holding Lisanna. She dropped to the floor, but Natsu caught her just in time.
"Fair enough, Salamander." The man grinned one last time before snapping his fingers.
Within that very second, he was gone, and so was Lucy.
